An Excellent intro into a new movie universe

The movie is a fantastic entry point into the new movie-verse for Mortal Kombat. I'm gonna start with the weakest point in the movie. Cole. Our main protagonist is OC and lacks a lot of character that Mortal Kombat is known for. Onto the good. The fight scenes are amazing. Any scenes involving Sub-Zero or Scorpion are eaten up by the two. Liu Kang and Kung Lao have a perfect brotherly rivalry. Finally, Kano is an amazing comedic focal point in keeping the movie lighthearted. The steelbook featuring Scorpion will go well with other steelbooks I have and is gorgeous in my opinion.
