Limited blue colored vinyl. The most live-sounding Yo La Tengo album in years, This Stupid World. Times have changed for Yo La Tengo as much as they have for everyone else. In the past, the band has often worked with outside producers and mixers. In their latest effort, the first full-length in five years, This Stupid World was created all by themselves. And their time-tested judgment is both sturdy enough to keep things to the band's high standards, and nimble enough to make things new. At the base of nearly every track is the trio playing all at once, giving everything a right-now feel. There's an immediacy to the music, as if the distance between the first pass and the final product has become more direct. Album Tracks 1. Sinatra Drive Breakdown (7 20) 2. Fallout (4 35) 3. Tonight's Episode (4 48) 4. Aseslestine (3 48) 5. Until It Happens (3 11) 6. Apology Letter (4 14) 7. Brain Capers 1. This Stupid World (7 25) 2. Miles Away (7 26) 3. Untitled (Instrumental) (7 02)

After a ten-year absence that left a palpable void in the hearts of millennial emo kids, Motion City Soundtrack are finally back-and yes, it's everything we hoped for. The Same Old Wasted Wonderful World (out September 19) feels like coming home a dizzying, emotionally articulate blast of guitar-laced pop-punk that reminds us why this band meant so much in the first place. It's a sonic time machine, sure, but it never gets stuck in the past. Instead, it builds on it-older, a little bruised, but somehow more alive. Justin Pierre's voice still wobbles gloriously between a scream and a sigh, only now it carries the weight of experience, not just anxiety.Rather than reinventing themselves, Motion City double down on what they've always done best big hooks, bigger feelings, and that perfect tightrope walk between chaos and control. Tracks like InchParticle PhysicsInch (with Patrick Stump of Fallout Boy) and InchYour Days Are NumberedInch (featuring Mat Kerekes of Citizen) channel the kind of clarity that only comes after surviving your own worst years. In a world drowning in lazy nostalgia, The Same Old Wasted Wonderful World is a rare and welcome return that feels less like a reunion and more like a long-overdue continuation Album Tracks 1. Some Wear a Dark Heart 2. She Is Afraid 3. Particle Physics (Feat. Patrick Stump) 4. You Know Who the F**k We Are 5. Melancholia 6. Your Days Are Numbered (Feat. Mat Kerekes) 7. Downer 8. Mi Corazón 9. Bloodline 10. Things Like This (Feat. Sincere Engineer) 11. The Same Old Wasted Wonderful World
