Great phone. I shopped around first, then went to Best Buy. Love that they have the "unlocked" version - so I could get the phone without getting 100 apps that just drain the battery. Phone is excellent, works fantastic - photos are great (well as good as I take) and it was very easy to adjust to this new phone. The features are very easy to learn.

My wife's Google Pixel was starting to die in terms of battery. This turned out to be a surprisingly good phone for the price. It lacks the power and features of a flag ship phone but comes with Android 9. I bought this as a replacement for my wife, who is not a power user. It easily handles everything she needs in a phone. We found a decent case for cheap online.

Solid cheap phone with an actually decent speaker for only being a single. Two years now without any issues at all, it holds a charge for 2 days, has plenty of room and enough ram to use it for a phone and for browsing but not for playing games. I like the size, I don't need a massive phone to see what I am doing. stuck with android 10 and no longer get updates but that's fine, 11 does not add all that much new. pulling up google can be slow as it's not the top line processor but it's fine. Faster when connected to my home network vs LTE. The karate chop to turn on the light is slick! camera seems good to me, pictures are sharp, no problems, I mean it's no Canon SLR but for <100$ they look good. enough.

I've had this phone for about 9 days. I really love it. I have metroPcs and had to call my customer service to switch my phone over. It was pretty simple. Metro doesn't carry this specific phone. The camera is pretty good also but I'm not really a selfie person but my photos I've taken are good quality. My other phone was like 4 years old and this is my first non-LG phone. That being said I don't think my wifi signal is as strong when connected but I don't really have any issues. But the bars look lower than usual. Everything on this phone is "new" to me so if you're used to having new phones I'd compare specs. I prefer to use my headsets when talking because I don't think the sound quality is the same when talking directly into the phone and it's kind of awkward to hold. The body of the phone is very slim and kind of narrow. I'd recommend a case. I got one at another big online retailer because they were like $9. It will most likely slip out of your hands if you don't and I have small hands. All in all I think it's a great phone.

My old Motorola Droid Turbo was getting slow. I reviewed "modern" smart phones, but they're all HUGE these days, apparently the makers believe that they ought to build the phone around the biggest screen they can buy at a reasonable price. As someone who wears his cell phone on a holster on his belt, that doesn't appeal to me. I had planned to wait until 5G but the old phone was just not cutting it any more. The G7 Play was only a little bigger than my old Turbo, has magnificent battery life and the ability to fast charge. It's plenty of phone for me, happy with the camera function. Motorola phones have a couple of unique "hand movements" that enable the flashlight or camera function, very nice. Only thing I'd say is that the Android OS never permits the use of some older approaches on their phone. For example, the widget available now does NOT have the ancillary extensions for battery life and weather; I can't display my "favorites' on the mains screen, it's now two levels deep. It'd be nice if I could refresh the OS while using some of the older features of the GUI. But overall a great phone at a great price.

This phone is excellent for the price and very functional. Is it an iPhone? No. However, the speed is fine for basic apps, a decent camera, and good battery life. A great phone for kids or individuals not looking to pay monthly installments or spend $1000.

I've watched the Moto G7 online for quite sometime. I compared it's stat's to other brands being offered, and I could not beat the price on this phone. I've had it over a month and so far have been very impressed by it's performance. I am not some kind of power user and this phone is more the acceptable. It's fast and the battery lasts me for two days. It's nice not having all the forced apps that cell providers put on their phones, and being unlocked I can change providers "whenver". My last HTC cost me over $800 and I used it for four years. This G7 cost me $69 plus tax and that's it. No activation fee either. How could I go wrong here?

So far so good. This a upgrade from my Moto4, and this one has enough memory for the apps I need and I've yet to have any problems with speed. Great screen and colors. The camera works well enough for me, I mainly take pics of my dogs. I'm not very good with photoshopping the images, so this was halfway decent even for me. This photo of my fur babies was taken from 10 feet away. You'll have to download an app if you want ringtones. Hubby complained about that, but I keep mine on vibrate. I did like the wallpaper choices. If I have issues, I'll follow up on my review.

I was searching for a replacement for my dying Nokia 3.1A and had researched a lot of different phones that would fit my needs and was impressed by the Moto G line of phones and particularly the G7 Play. When I saw it on sale at BB for $129, I grabbed it up. Without a doubt the best phone I've ever owned. It does everything well, nice camera, decent speaker, fast enough, can multi task without missing beat, strong colors. Security and Android updates are nice to have also. Battery life is amazing and has rapid charge ability. Most important to me was the 32 GB memory and since it was unlocked, not a lot of bloatware, leaving a lot of available memory. My first Motorola phone but most likely not my last. 5 stars

Bought this phone a week ago or so. Had an LG 3 that was 4 years old and wouldn't connect to wifi anymore. It also had very poor cell tower reception. I'd be in the middle of my town and couldn't get cell service or connect to the internet. The Best Buy agent Adam felt my phone's processor and system were old and unable to handle the workload. Felt the antenna was not as powerful as a new phones would be. He showed me a few models and suggested the Moto G7 play for what my needs were. I am a Sprint customer and he showed me this phone was marked down if it was bought as an upgrade. I liked it's features and bought it from Best Buy. Adam got it activated with Sprint and downloaded my contacts and I was out of there in less than 40 minutes. Unfortunately he couldn't download my pictures as it was just too old to transfer the pictures. My old LG 3 had no reception inside the Best Buy store but as soon as my Moto G7 Play was activated it had a strong signal and reception was no problem inside the store. I am very pleased with this phone. I have downloaded a lot of apps and the reception is strong and I get service anywhere I go. The settings were easy to adjust and I am liking this phone a lot. I am hoping it will last longer than my LG 3.

I bought this motorola as an affordable, reliable replacement for my Samsung android phone. Overall, I have been very pleased. The battery life is excellent I still usually recharge once per day, but it seems to have several days of charge under normal use. The screen image is good. Camera seems very good...takes great pictures. It is a little heavy, but not really a problem. I sometimes have problems receiving calls, but I think this is due to the heavy cellular demand during covid distancing. Overall, I am very pleased. A very good phone at a very affordable price!!! I shopped carefully before I bought this phone, and would buy again at a similar price.

It was a very good price for what I call an intermediate phone. Battery life is phenomenal and the popup reminders of what is currently draining your battery is a nice touch for this level phone. I am not a gamer or hard core cell user, so I have only been charging every 2 days and really think I can get 3 days out of a single charge! If you are in to phablets then this may be undersized for you, but I love Google. There are an abundant of features I never seen on Samsung like the shake to turn the flashlight on; turn over to activate 'Do Not Disturb'. The fingerprint scanner is PRECISE and SUPER QUICK!! Another feature I love is you don't have to bring up the screen to use the fingerprint scanner...just pick up the phone and place your finger on it! I honestly think the scanner is way better than Samsung's. Lackluster, rudimentary icons for signal strength and battery icon. BUT the oval circle on the wake up screen is great for telling you battery power, time, and weather! Unless you need the top of the line cell (to say you have the top of line cell) the average Joe will love this phone and all the features. Oh and I have NOT seen any lag in videos. Very nice phone!

This is my 3rd Moto G7 purchase from Bestbuy for my family. Easy to use but not too large for people with average hand. Using over two years among three phone and still no slowness. I use it for fantasy football, e-mail about ten apps open on a regular basis. No slowness. My phone never froze up. Over all I have had very good experience with a phone over two years without breaking my bank. I really like how Motorola price these phones. I purchased a good cell phone case and shield to protect from broken screen. Highly recommend who feels a smart phone should be good enough to perform normal work without breaking the bank. Hope my experience will help you find a value phone. Thank you, TD

I finally traded in my original Motorola Razor flip phone for this Moto G7 Play. I've drug my feet trying to keep my Razor but finally gave in. Until the last 6 mos. or so I primarily used my phone to make phone calls. Imagine that, using my phone to make phone calls. Years ago I started borrowing audio books from the library. I'd get them on CD and play them on my computer and in the car. It relieved the stress of heavy commuter traffic on the highway. It relieved me of a lot of road rage. If traffic became snarled I'd just sit back, relax and listen to my audio book. Then I got a new car. It didn't have a CD player. I was told everyone listens to music they download from the internet. No one wants CD's anymore. Well, I did, how would I listen to my audio books? Then we purchased a "Ring" security system. This is a low cost flexible system that you can monitor through your cell phone. Well, my Razor isn't a cell phone. I needed a new phone to manage the Ring and monitor the status of our security system. My wife has a Motorola smart phone that runs an Android operating system so it made sense that I get an Android too. That way she can help me adjust to it and learn how it functions and how to use it. I've only had it a couple of weeks, and it's been a little difficult for me to learn it, but I am able to download audio books from the library again and manage our Ring system with it. I don't have a lot of experience with it yet but, If I can learn it I think anyone can learn it. I just turned 75 last month. Oh, yea, it can make phone calls too.

So far I haven't had a single problem with my moto g7 play. The camera is awesome for pictures as well as videos, it has much better resolution than the next several models before & after it. I signed up for service on sprint's network because of the best but mobile associate recommending it. I'm not impressed at all so far concerning their coverage area & mobile data availability. I had been on a prepaid plan before signing up for the sprint plan & so far I'm thinking about switching back or to another service provider. I have had trouble with streaming & or downloading both data & apps. Unless I'm missing something it really appears that if I'm not attached to wifi it takes a very long time to connect to the network if I want to download anything. I can't recommend sprint for that very reason alone.

This new G7 Play is much faster than its predecessor, the G6 Play. Otherwise, all is essentially identical with Moto actions and clean Android build. Of course, it's a slightly different size, so a new case and screen protector are needed... and not sure if battery life is quite as good as before. Transfer of everything was very quick, thanks to knowledgeable staff at the store.

This is an awesome phone for the price. Great camera, battery life is crazy long. Facial recognition works great as does fingerprint sensor. The only thing that I could complain about a little bit is the lack of NFC function, but no biggy. Very slim phone, great design.

There's really nothing super special about this phone--it does everything well, but not spectacularly. The camera works but won't wow you. Battery life is good. Sound quality is about average. But for such an inexpensive phone it is really quite quick, with no lag or delays. It's not a flagship phone, but that's not what it's trying to be. It is definitely worth the price, especially if you get it on sale.

Finally found an android phone with all the features I will ever use in a size I wanted!! Couldn't believe the price, so I read some expert reviews and made up my mind to get it. I am not a sophisticated user, so this little guy fits my needs . . . and my pocket perfectly. Had to add a slim case for protection and because without it, the phone is very slippery. The display is as good as I need and it is fast enough when browsing or downloading an e-book. Glad I got it!!
