A: 8x42 is a better way to go. Wider FOV , brighter, lighter, easier to track with (seeing a bird fly, finding your kid on the field,etc.). Get a good set of binos to start with and you might never find them lacking!

Nice “starter binoculars”
I got these for my 10 year old to go bird watching. They are a decent weight for her, for the price vs use, they are a “higher end” started pair of binoculars. We replaced the strap to make them more comfortable because she’s a kid, but otherwise, they’re a great pair. I believe these will last for a good, long time.
