I had not seen this movie in some time, and I have an older copy on DVD. I'm happy I bought this steelbook, as the blu ray and 4K disks are very nice updates. The artwork on the steelbook is great as well!

This is one of the all time great comedies and finally has been upgraded to brilliant 4K UHD brilliance. The movie is now better than ever with crisp color and clarity like never before. I would recommend this to anyone interested in owning this.

I've always loved this movie. Saw it in the theater and wore out two VHS tapes. Still have a laser disc copy. The transfer is good, the steelbook case is cool, and it's great to have it on multiple formats.

An American college classic movie with the late John Belushi, the late Donald Sutherland, the late Cesare Danica and many other greats. They made the University of Oregon famous. The Frat House makes you want to goto college and join a Fraternity. I love this movie. This is a must to have in your library of classic movies.

I really enjoyed this one with the late John Belushi. Looks and sounds good on the 4K UHD format! Nice slipcover, 4K, Blu-ray, and digital copy here. Check out The Blues Brothers as well on 4K with John and Dan. Brilliant.

A cult classic film with incredible packaging. Pick it up if you can.

This is hands down the best edition of this film to date. The steelbook perfectly represents the film, the matte finish feels great, and the on disc content has the looking version of the film ever. Top it off with some great extras and you have a the best release of Animal House possible.

Movie looks and soumds great definitely worth the price of admission for this one

This is a review of the 4K Steelbook released May 18, 2021. You already know Animal House is one of the classic slob comedies of all time. The 4K visual transfer is well done, very clear. A lot of the movie looks rather dark with grain but that is because of how it was filmed, a new restoration can't help that. The 4K clarity will add several instances of "I never saw that before." I have a 5,2.2 audio system which got a workout with the 4K disc's audio. The Faber College Theme sounds fabulous. This disc was worth paying the going rate and not waiting for the inevitable sale prices. I am not all that interested in the bonuses, there are several, but I buy movies to watch the movies. The 4K had subtitles for AH fans who've shot their hearing since the theatrical release.

Don't let Animal House's UHD disc flounder in obscurity while on double secret probation. This release doesn't simply earn a passing grade; it sports a stellar 2160p/HDR video transfer that puts it near the top of the class. It's every bit the upgrade fans have long desired and it'll more than satisfy any videophile just coming to scope out the wares as well. The new DTS:X soundtrack doesn't reinvent the movie's sound design (and nor should it) but the presentation is just fine as-is. No new extras are included, which is a minor disappointment, but what's here is reliable and enjoyable. Very highly recommended for the film and the video transfer, and packaging collector's would be wise to check out the companion SteelBook packaging variant.

If you’ve watched shows like Family Guy, they got some of their jokes from this movie. This movie has made an impact in the community of comedy movies. Unable to gain acceptance at the snootier fraternities they pledge, the Deltas, a motley crew of misfits and sociopaths bent on disrupting the well-starched status quo, engage in various illegalities that land them in hot water with both the stern college dean and the neighboring jock fraternity. Their exploits eventually cause them to be placed on "double-secret probation," until finally, they are kicked out of school and, as the dean reminds them, newly eligible for the Vietnam draft. What's a Delta to do?

The comedic value of this movie is what makes the high-def version a must have. Bringing the old VHS quality to current standards makes the movie even more fun to watch. Boone, Otter, D-Day, Bluto, Pinto, Flounder, Greggy, Dougie and some of the other Hitler youth are in crisp detail and brought to current standards. Any fan of Belushi will love this upgrade, but the entirety of the cast in 4K is worth every penny. Anyone who doesn't know what "classic comedy" is needs to buy this and have everyone in their families watch to find out.

I usually don’t buy movies on 4K from categories other than Action/Adventure or Sci-f. But certain films in other categories merit a look when they have a punch sound mix or score that is incredible. The picture quality is great, but I think the soundtrack alone merits the upgrade. True they could’ve added a Dolby Atmos soundtrack to a remastered Blu-ray, but the film is old enough that it seemed to benefit from the 4K process. Not too grainy, and I said before, the score, especially at the end of the movie sounds excellent.

Frankly, John Belushi's performance alone is enough to make this movie an incredible classic. He may have been the funniest comedic actor ever. It's truly a shame that he died so young. In fact, he was supposed to act in Ghostbusters. (I think he would have been hilarious as one of the Ghostbusters.) In any case, compared to the edited-for-TV (cleaner) version that I saw as a kid, I felt like I got to watch the entire film in its full glory. Glorious indeed! Toga! Toga!

An ultimate classic Comedy. Very happy it came out to 4k. Highly recommend it.

Classic movie the restoration to 4k is perfect and the sound, reminds me of the good old days

Despite its rightful status as a classic comedy, I never thought I would see Animal House ever get a 4K Ultra HD release. Yet, here we are and the results are quite impressive. The John Landis comedy has always looked rather bland on previous home video formats, but the new 4K transfer finally gives the comedy some vitality. For the first time since its theatrical days, a home video release of Animal House looks like a really nice film print instead of an oversharpened, noisy mess. Are there drawbacks? Only a couple. It would have been nice to have the original theatrical mono sound (only a 5.1 DTS track is included) and there are no new extras included, only the legacy one from previous blu-ray and DVD editions. Still, if you love the film -as do I,- this is a must have for your 4K UHD library.

Animal House is a great film in any format but in 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray it's a must have! I got mine before they were gone!
