We have a two-story house with a basement. 2GB fiber network to the house. I had a TP-LINK BE63 (router and one satellite). It worked for the most part, except for the far TV in the main bedroom, which was on the same floor, but opposite ends of the house. The TV wouldn't connect sometimes, lagged, or took forever to load. I upgraded to the Orbi 870 and it is has solved my whole house wifi situation. Granted I could of added a 2nd satellite to the TP-LINK system, but I also had some concerns with TP-LINK and recent issues with the FCC and and TP-Link equipment. The Orbi 870 was a breeze to setup through the app and I was up and running in about 30 minutes, including firmware updates. Speeds to all of my devices have improved dramatically and connections have stayed strong and connected. If there were a negative, I'm very disappointed NETGEAR wants me to pay for NETGEAR Armor once the 30 day trial is over. I'm still trying to decide if this worth the purchase price and I'm leaning to not purchase this for future use. I have been very pleased with this purchase and have not had any issues so far after a solid month of use. I hope this continues!

I've been running this Orbi system for a couple of months now, and the coverage is absolutely excellent. It pushes a strong, consistent Wi-Fi 7 signal throughout the house, easily handling all my connected devices without any dead zones or dropped connections. The installation was another major plus. It was completely hassle-free and straightforward to get the whole mesh network up and running right out of the box. The only real drawback here is the cost—it is definitely on the pricey side. However, if you are willing to invest in reliable, top-tier performance and a painless setup, this system absolutely delivers.

No issues. Works like a charm. Signing up to be a Best Buy member saved me money on this purchase! Win win situation.

This is my second Orbi system. I initially invested in the original RBK50 (router + satellite), later adding a plug-in unit and an outdoor satellite to achieve exceptional coverage across two floors, a basement, and a 1/4-acre property. After relocating my home office to the basement, I had to rely on WiFi to connect my Mac to the internet—something I preferred over committing to a full rewiring project. While speeds in the new location were decent, they dropped from over 800 Mbps to around 300 Mbps, even with a plug-in satellite placed just a few feet from the Mac. I also began noticing that anytime we experienced a brownout or power outage, I had to reboot the original Orbi system—something that hadn't been an issue for years. With my daughter starting a new work-from-home role and our increasing dependence on smart home devices, I decided it was time to upgrade the mesh system. Although it's only been a day or two, I can already say the upgrade has been worthwhile—not just in performance but also in the ease of setup. It took about an hour to fully install, including firmware updates, satellite placement, and ensuring all smart home devices were properly connected. I’m a fan of the new units' appearance and their smaller footprint—though the original system was also fairly sleek. I'm glad I opted for the 3-pack, as I follow a "one per floor" philosophy for mesh coverage. CONS: This system was nearly twice the cost of my original setup, which I bought as an early adopter. The router and satellites feel somewhat flimsy due to their lightweight plastic construction—I was hoping for a more solid, premium feel. It’s disappointing that the black version is a Netgear.com exclusive. I connected both my Mac and a game console directly to a satellite’s Ethernet ports but didn’t see the high speeds I was expecting. That may be a configuration issue, so I’ll need to explore the settings. Lastly, reconnecting the outdoor satellite has been more difficult than the app instructions suggested—something I’ll need to troubleshoot further. PROS: Speeds are excellent—truly lightning-fast WiFi. Coverage is robust, and I’ll update this review once I verify whether it extends outdoors without the dedicated outdoor satellite. Setup was smooth and straightforward. The smaller design makes it easier to place units strategically throughout the home. I plan to update this review as I explore more of the system’s capabilities. I’m especially looking forward to building a dedicated IoT network for smart home devices (which I’ll need to research) and digging into the system’s security features. All in all, I’ve been a loyal and satisfied Orbi user for years, and this upgrade has certainly lived up to expectations.

Upgraded from an Orbi RB40 sysyem. Initial installation and set up went well. Excellent wired speed and wireless speed/coverage. Began seeing "lag spikes" while gaming and streaming. Not really noticable during routine browsing. Netgear tech support was pretty good. Was able to reach someone (offshore) fairly quickly. They ran through data gathering scripts. We frequently got disconnected, but they were prompt to reach back out, and their notes were thorough, minimizing "do over". Final analysis ... the router in the Orbi seems to be overly sensisitve to line noise from my Verizon FIOS 2 Gb/s service, and was giving false DoS Attack warnings. Routers protective response was interupting service. Simply disabling UPnP on the router fixed it. I (and Google) came up with that solution about 3 phone-houes before Netgear did. Router should not be that sensitive. Tech support should have been more efficient. As long as I don't need UPnP, I like this system. Orbi app is good, providing good visibility and control of the whole network.

Hello, I really want to let folks know about this product. First, the internet speed is awesome and very reliable the WIFI reach is great as well. However, I think in the future I may try a different brand because the APP, or the internet interface UI does not work very well. These Units are super expensive as well and I think maybe a different brand may be better.

This system works EXCELLENT!!!! Yes it is pricey but I have 3 levels in my house and this works better than any router I have ever had before. I have the 3 separate pieces. Glad I got it!!

Netgear works exceptionally well for most all devices, and it is a powerful access point. Unfortunately, Apple connectivity is inconsistent and drops connections in the middle of a session. This is known issue with Orbi and they have yet to solve the issue to my satisfaction --- after submitting multiple tickets to their support teams. If you want ease of use without all the networking bells and whistles, go with Eero.

Very happy with our Orbi 870. Upgrade from Nest Wifi Pro that just could not handle the multiple Zoom calls and internet gaming systems at once. Orbi is not the cheapest but wifi is like air in my house, so it has to work all the time and without fail or pause. The 870 is quite robust and easily covers the three levels of my home.

Easy setup, great range, and supports the speed my fiber provides. Priced a little high but worth the spend. Definitely recommend.

This mesh system fixed all the dead zones in my large home. Setup was simple, and I love that each satellite has Ethernet ports for wired devices. Totally worth the upgrade!

The routers are really fast and reliable. If you are looking for a fast router this is the one.

Greta product, works soooo much better than the Linksys that randomly kept saying incorrect password for connected devices. Only downside of the Orbi is it's size, it's quite large.

I had this system up and running in less than 30 minutes and have had no issues. It handles multiple users and devices with ease.

I have had orbi systems for as long as I can remember and most recently had the 850 with 2 satellites. Home is 7,000 square feet but I did have some dead zones in the house like a couple bathrooms at the corners and the garage. But other than that 850 was a great product that I didn’t have any complaints with. It got taken out by lighting and thought it was time to upgrade to a WiFi 7 system. Have new iPhones and MacBook Airs in the family and got the 870 on sale for $999 so thought why not. Set up on the 870 was so much easier than I remember the 850 being. And I have no dead spots now. All the bathrooms have WiFi and the garage. The pool area and even the boat dock has WiFi service now. And blazing fast speeds on iPhone 17 pro max and MacBook Air compared to what I was getting on the 850. I only have gig service on cable but was getting 1.2 consistently.

Super easy set up and super consistent fast speeds. The satellites helped cover areas that my single router could not.

These are pure garbage. I replaced an old velop mesh router with this and regretted it. It worked ok for 2 months. Then the tech support expried. They wanted $180 to support this device. Despite having an active hardware warranty. They would talk to me. Lots of devices wouldnt connect. The range got really weak. Then finally bandwidth was at about 30mb no matter what when i had 1gb at the modem. Ultimately the company didnt help and i returned it to best buy and got a deco which was instantly better. Best buy should pull this product.

I’m very happy with this purchase my wireless set up was struggling to keep up with the amount of devices I had in the streaming that was going around my house. I also was having a problem with my outdoor cameras in my locks. I set this up with my Verizon Fios and disabled the files Wi-Fi and use the Orby as an access point in AP mode. Things are working great you can definitely notice the speed is faster and no issues with connectivity Wi-Fi calling FaceTime and streaming.
