About this product
Double Life, the fourth Night Moves album and first in six years, is a cozy and cool LP built largely from a string of very rough breaks that singer John Pelant and Night Moves have navigated in recent years. Pelant is the sort of songwriter who starts with the music-inspired of late by Glen Campbell and Bobby Caldwell, Cleaners from Venus and early '90s country, Panda Bear and (as ever) Gram Parsons-and then writes lyrics only after he's sat with the tune a spell. But this time, these songs are direct documents of Pelant's life as he searches for silver linings or at least valuable meanings during a moment when very little seemed golden. Double Life is about moving through, not moving on. Album Tracks 1. Trying to Steal a Smile 2. Daytona 3. Hold on to Tonight 4. Almost Perfect 5. State Sponsored Psychosis 6. Ring My Bell 7. The Judge 8. White Liquor 9. The Abduction 10. This Time Tomorrow 11. Desperation

Vinyl LP pressing includes digital download. The second album from Minneapolis-based band Night Moves, Pennied Days was written and recorded by principle band members John Pelant and Micky Alfano, and produced by John Agnello (Kurt Vile, Sonic Youth, The Walkmen), the album feels warm with feeling, tinged with a deep appreciation for rock and roll's most storied songwriters. Formed in 2009 in the Twin Cities in the United States, Night Moves is composed at it's core of Pelant and his 28-year-old partner in crime, Micky Alfano, with a cast of rotating friends and fellow musicians fleshing out the live act. Friends since high school, their bond was solidified when Alfano lent Pelant his copy of George Harrison's All Things Must Pass, a luminous classic of turn-the-page melancholy that echoes through Pennied Days. Over time, Pelant and Alfano have broadened their scope to allow for a wide array of maverick influences, ranging from traditionalist heroes like Leon Russell and The Band to R&B originators Curtis Mayfield and Sly Stone to pre-punk experimentalists Suicide. Pennied Days is distinctly modern and a great leap forward from 2012's Colored Emotions - a promising follow up for a growing young band. Album Tracks 1. Carl Sagan 2. Denise, Don't Wanna See You Cry 3. Leave Your Light on 4. Border on Border 5. Kind Luck 6. Hiding in the Melody 7. Staurolite Stroll 8. Alabama 9. Only to Live in Your Memories

Limited 180gm audiophile repressing of this classic rock gem. Originally released in 1976, Night Moves was Bob Seger's first studio album with the Silver Bullet Band. This remains a certified classic of heartland rock! John Pelant and Micky Alfano, better know as Night Moves, have grown up. Over the past few years, they have perfected their brand of poppy psychedelia, delivering what they call Can You Really Find Me - Night Moves' new album due out this summer, June 28th. The songwriting, while still steeped in super-catchy, velvety riffs and pure pop glaze, feels more sophisticated and modern. Since the pair met in high school, awestruck by such ear-candy wizards as Brian Wilson, Todd Rundgren, Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham, they set off to craft their version of what sophisticated, emotional modern pop music should sound, and feel like. 2016's Pennied Days was a breakthrough, and set a new bar for Night Moves. After spending the subsequent two years on Can You Really Find Me, they've cleared that bar, entering a new atmosphere where the sounds are still just as sweet, but now smarter, more evocative, and perfectly designed for a summer . Album Tracks 1. Mexico 2. Recollections 3. Keep Me in Mind 4. Strands Align 5. Waiting for the Symphony 1. Ribboned Skies 2. Coconut Grove 3. Saving the Dark 4. Angelina 5. Can You Really Find Me
