I wanted something compact that I could easily use at home, take to work, or even bring to the gym, and this blender exceeded my expectations. First, the power is surprisingly strong for a portable device. It crushes frozen fruit and ice without any issues, producing smooth and consistent blends every time. [Employee of bestbuy] The Ninja Blast Max resolves all issues I had with the Ninja Blast. The battery life is much larger, but more importantly the base is removable from the actual blades. Therefore you don't have to worry about the base getting wet from washing. This is particularly an issue because the Ninja Blast does NOT have a cover for the USB-C charging port, so if you forget to charge the Blast, wash it, and immediately fill it up with a smoothie, bad news! You can't charge the Blast and you can't blend any of the contents you just filled up because the base is wet and will kill any USB-C charging cord you use until it fully dries, even if you try and dry the port by wedging in paper towels (guess how I know?) Again, thankfully the Blast Max has its own base because you can keep it dry and charged at all times, keeping it away from any liquid whatsoever. Even if you were to get it wet, it has a rubber cover blocking liquid from spilling into the charging port. Fantastic! Personally I find the extra size negligible, but welcome. The only thing I "negative" about the Blast Max is to definitely get a scrubbing wand to help clean around the blades and that it is LOUD. The increased power is definitely audible, but worth the trade.
