We got this to replace an old HTIB system that was struggling with some of the new audio on our streaming services. I didn’t want to spend a ton, but wanted something more than a sound bar to replace the inadequate TV speakers. This system isn’t going to blow the walls off, and we do have to turn it up to like 60 to fill the room, but it provides a very satisfying sound upgrade. It was easy to set up (we already had wiring for the rear speakers). It sounds very good and has plenty of inputs if we ever want to hook up game systems or a disc player. ARC works well with our TCL Roku TV so we only need one remote which is very convenient! We briefly tested the Bluetooth with our iPhones and had no problems at all. My only complaint is how tall the receiver is (I guess they all are though). It wouldn’t fit where we had the old receiver/DVD player combo unit so we had to rearrange everything which was a pain.

Nothing negative to report except possibly the size of the receiver. Easy to set up and use. As this is my first 5.1 I cannot compare, but I am very happy with the sound quality*. Note that wiring to the satellite speakers is included, a nice perk. *Forgot what the movie was, but a dog unexpectedly barked in a scene... it sounded like it was about a foot from my right ear. I inadvertently jumped and looked over.

For the price point I cannot complain about this system. It did get some time to get use to changing the different audio modes. I feel like it sometimes detects Dolby Atmos automatically and sometimes it doesn't. Not sure if the playback device or HT. The speakers are good for the bundle, but I'll clearly upgrade them in the future. The reason for 4 stars is the subwoofer. it's really weak. I have a Phillips soundbar with a stronger subwoofer. I had an Aiwa HT in 1995 25W and the subwoofer was stronger. I dont need to raise the volume 75+ to enjoy good bass.

We are using this mid-price home-theater-in-a-box in a smaller space with a 40" class Vizio TV. Sound provides adequate color, dimension, and tone. The subwoofer gives us sufficiently dramatic bass for our use with movies and streaming services. I set up the Onkyo and the TV with a Roku Express all at the same time with no issues. Connected to Xfinity cable and home wifi just fine. Controls have been easy to use. Onkyo identifies the input source automatically and works with the existing Comcast control to power on and off, and to control volume.

Awesome sound system. Easy-to-use. Our TCL Roku tv controls it also.

I wanted to upgrade my budget soundbar, to something with a little more boom! And to be honest I didnt want to spend and arm and leg. Then I saw this beauty...I'm still playing around with the features but from what I've already experienced with movies and video gmaes this system is a winner hands down. The only issue I have with the system is the volume. Anything under 50 is bearly noticable. But at 70 plus its like being in the movie theater. The sorround sound and ATMOS is on point with games that carry the features. I would also recommend using the optical audio versus the HDMI Arc thing. Maybe its me but the tech is not there yet unless you have a newer modle television. All in all its a solid system if you are on a budget.

Looked for a cheap starter kit for Audio Receiver and speakers and glad this exist. I had a soundbar that had 2 HDMi inputs but the video was washed out and sound wasn’t the greatest. After installing this I’m impressed. It’s not theater audio but great in my game room to watch movies or play video games. Bass could be y stronger but it’s easy to switch speakers out. Great Sound, great audio and video

Ok system, 2 months after buying this unit it broke, BUT, ONKYO did honor the 2 year warranty that is sold with every new unit and fix the receiver quickly. The sound is good no real complaints. I did but a secondary sub-woofer to make the bass sound a lot better. The included woofer in good, but a powered woofer is better. I have had the unit back for about a month now, and it is sill working good. I do wish they would have had a setup mic, that would have made things a lot easier.

Very nice unit that has good sound quality (after I figured out that using all of the HDMI inputs limited the crisp treble and gave very little bass - - but using an optical cable provided the sound I expected). Controlling the sound I wanted is more difficult than having a graphic equalizer ( I guess I am "Old School"), that is the only reason I did not rate it 5 stars.

I purchased the Onkyo - HT S3910 5.1-Ch. Hi-Res 3D Home Theater Speaker System last year in August 2019. I can't tell you how much My family, friends and I have ejoyed this awesome Dolby Atmos Sound system. Once connecting it to all my other devices, OMG. It sounds so awesome. Especially while watching fast high action movies and sports. It's like we're right there in the middle of the game or action. It was so easy to connect all of my devices and instructions are easily understandable. You can also find more connection information online to help adjust and tweak all of the settings. I am so happy with my Onkyo and with Best Buy. Best Buy is awesome. Thank you Onyko and Thank You Best Buy.

These are great sounding speakers and atmos feature is plus at this price range! For people who are complaining that bass is not that heavy, i was one of you until I configured it right! Since this model doesnt have auto config you have to okay around with settings 1) distance i measured using measure app on ipad 2) cross over, these speakers can go upto 80hz but we should not go till there so i made these to be 120Hz but onkyo recommends 150Hz 3) level calib , i changed all speakers to be -3db and sub to +4db that provides extra room for sub to come in to play! Try these and play around with calibration settings you will get nice punchy bass !

At this price point this is the best home theater out there. The sound is great when you adjust settings and it is easy to set up. It has awesome features you only see in higher end devices. 4k support and Dolby Atoms support through a Blu Ray player or Streaming media device. I personally have it connected by HDMI to my Nvidia Shield.

Really easy to set up and use. This is the first A/V Receiver I've owned, so I cant really compare it to anything else, but for the price I can't complain. Using this is a huge step up from my built in TV speakers. If you have the space, go with this over a soundbar. It is wired though with no option to use wireless speakers, so that's probably the biggest con.

I am very happy with this system. Set up is easy and straight forward. I am by no means an audiophile, but I am very happy with the sound from this system. It uses ARC, and I can control the sound with my TV remote and can switch between sources simply by using the source. HDMI switches over automatically, which is convenient.

Works really good, easy to set up. I purchased 2 floor towers with it to add to bass and sound. Sometimes it switches on by itself if I just want to play through the tv

Great sound at a great price Hard to beat the value of this system Very easy to set up

For the price, this theater system is hard to beat. Has excellent sound. Clear and distinct highs, mids, and the subwoofer delivers excellent lows. The only down is that it claims to have simulated dolby atmos, but it doesn't really sound like true dolby atmos due to the lack up upfiring speakers. Still, for the price I would definitely recommend it as a nice upgrade to any home theater.

Coming from ht s3900 to this was not impressed with the sound, having to turn it up to 65 just for regular gaming, 85 for movie. Subwoofer lacks the power. Sound quality is great you just have to mess with the settings just to get that oomph. Such as intellivolume and sound level, which in turn does not really help the subwoofer at all.

I'm satisfied with it's I/O and I think the sound quality is exceptional for the price of this receiver. I love Zone B, it essentially allows you to connect an additional audio system to the Onkyo receiver and use its speakers simultaneously or switch back and forth from amplifier to amplifier. It has a sub pre-out, and standard speaker wire output that both work at the same time, so you can have two subs. The speakers that it came with are decent, but I swapped them out for larger drivers. It's loud and clear to say the least. I would recommend this.
