About this product

New album by Ailie Ormston and Tim Fraser, made up of samples of collaborative session material, field recordings and intricate MIDI instrumentation. 'It Changes' traces a moment in UK music culture from the 1990s to the present and repurposes the rhetoric of desire from UK Clubland to contemporary Poundland; from warehouse parties to warehouse employment. Odes are made to MMORPG soundtracks, the figures of authority in Peanuts and the dying frequencies in the ears of gen X ravers. Parts of It Changes were first presented in 2019 as a larger audio-visual work for Counterflows festival and the album was completed using voice notes and a headphone cable stretching between Tim & Ailie's neighbouring flats during the first and cursed parts of 2020. Album Tracks 1. Only Love Can 2. Was/Now 3. Drone Mistake 2 4. New Medicines (Reduced) 5. Blued WKD UK 6. Wuu2 7. No-Show (You're Perfect to Me) 8. Teacher 9. It Changes 10. Set You Free

Anne Queffelec - Debussy: Etudes - VINYL LP

Both a challenge and an adventure, the recording I made of the Études by Debussy lives on as a wonderful memory of friendship. Having encouraged me to record the complete set of twelve works, my friend and respected colleague Catherine Collard, an irreplaceable artist and great admirer of Debussy, did me the honour of acting as artistic director. Her unobtrusive presence and sensitive, insightful feedback gave me wings. [...] Taking the genre beyond the dry term of studyInch, Debussy and Chopin, true geniuses the pair of them, dazzle and move their listeners. Itzhak Perlman - Prokofiev: Violin Concertos Nos. 1 & 2 - VINYL LP

The distinctive character of each of Prokofiev's Violin Concertos seems rooted in it's genesis the first, nervy and iconoclastic, coincided with the Russian Revolution; the second, more sober and expansively lyrical, dates from 1935, when Prokofiev was preparing a permanent return to his native country. The two concertos were written nineteen years apart - a period that coincides almost completely with the years Prokofiev spent Inchin exileInch, first in the US and then in France. He composed No. 1 shortly before leaving Russia, and No. 2 just months before his return to the Soviet Union. It is hardly surprising, therefore, that the two works are so different from one another. Perlman chose to record these two concertos with Gennady Rozhdestvensky, whose experience in this repertoire he no doubt deemed second to none. Album Tracks 1. Violin Concerto No. 1 in D Major, Op. 19 I. Andantino 2. Violin Concerto No. 1 in D Major, Op. 19 II. Scherzo (Vivacissimo) 3. Violin Concerto No. 1 in D Major, Op. 19 III. Moderato 4. Violin Concerto No. 2 in G minor, Op. 63 I. Allegro Moderato 5. Violin Concerto No. 2 in G minor, Op. 63 II. Andante Assai - Allegretto 6. Violin Concerto No. 2 in G minor, Op. 63 III. Allegro Ben Marcato
