The Mystery of Mr. Wong is a thrilling mystery made at the height of Hollywood's fascination with Asian sleuths. In the second of what would be a six film series from Monogram, the methodical Mr. Wong (Boris Karloff) investigates the murder of an antiques collector. Along the way he deals with curses, smugglers, and an ever-evolving cast of suspects. Featuring a cast that includes Grant Withers and Lotus Long, the film was directed by William Nigh, the creative force behind such Monogram favorites as The Ape and Black Dragons!
Boris Karloff, Lotus Long. In the second of the Mr. Wong series, Wong searches for a stolen sapphire. 1939/b&w/67 min/NR/fullscreen.
When investigating the death of a chemical manufacturer, detective James Wong (Boris Karloff) uncovers an international spy ring! In the first of a popular movie franchise from Monogram Pictures, director William Nigh unfurls an intriguing mystery headlined by a cast that includes Grant Withers, Maxine Jennings, and Evelyn Brant. What's not to love when a movie includes a crafty detective, secret formulas, and poison gas?
