A: Depending on room size. They are brighter then a standard e12 incandescent if that’s what was in there before. 5 of them would be decent.
A: As far as i know, you can only control the bulbs when the bridge is connected. If no bridge is connected your light switches will control the bulbs like a standard bulb would. Without the bridge your hue bulbs will be just bulbs.
A: It does on, off, and dimming. If you want color you have to buy the Hue Color ones ($50 each), and color temperature is in the Ambiance bulbs ($25). These are the $15 bulbs that just do white light.
Q: Can these lightbulbs go in outdoor light fixtures like a porch light?
A: yes depending on your wattage and lumens needs. the "look" is supposed to mimic that of an outdoor style "flame" in your typical outdoor fixture.
A: Yes they can work on a schedule via an app, but there is no mechanism to have them function with motion unless you purchase the item called Philips Hue Motion Detector and have it paired with these lights through the app.
A: No, All Smart Bulbs need a constant source of power. You dim them through their app or by voice command with one of the smart home devices like Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa. Not a dimmer switch on the wall.
Q: Does it work with home kit?
A: Yes they do! All Hue bulbs that connect to the hub work with HomeKit.
Q: Do these lightbulbs work with a google home?
A: Yes. Make sure you have the Philip's hub, which will then connect to Google home. These bulbs alone won't connect to Google home.
