Great trimmer, cuts extremely well and is by far the best trimmer I have ever owned. Also convenient that it takes all of 1 hour to fully charge and be good for about 120min give or take off the 2 hour. In a hurry and realize it’s dead? No worries, you can use the supplied power cord(charging cord) and plug it and use it while it’s directly plugged in to wall outlet. Also if you let it charge for 5 min then it’s good for 5 min of use due to having a quick charge future. Also as a light to tell you it needs to be oiled and 3 power lights to indicate charge. Probably my favorite things is the main blades are metal so theirs none of that flexing stuff. Overall they cut great, they look great, charge fast and are great quality. You see why they are the price they are when you first try them. It took all the first min for me to realize I have been shaving my beard wrong forever and should have purchased something like this a long long time ago. I hope this helps someone decide and no I’m not a paid person who’s sponsored I just love this thing lol sincerely, Al

Quality construction, good weight, feels good in my hand. But you have to use it the right way. In my first photo my finger is on a flat plate on the back of the razor. This plate is key! When you’re trimming your beard, as in the 2nd photo, the blade faces up and that flat plate needs to be flat against your skin (I don’t know how this works if you have a long beard, I keep mine short). When it’s time to define your beard and you want sharp lines on the top and the bottom, you need to do 2 things. First, set the length at lowest, 0.04. Then, with the blade facing down (3rd picture), define the edges of your beard with that flat plate, again, against your skin. It’s taken me a month to figure this out, neither the included instructions nor customer service told me this (customer service actually pointed me to a YouTube review where the reviewer eventually used a straight razor to define the edges!). Anyway, now that I’ve figured it out I’m very happy with this trimmer. And it’s very easy to clean. I especially like that, if you keep your beard on the shorter side you don’t need to use one of those plastic blade guards

My fiancé loved this! He said it’s so much better than having all the different sizes on the end.

This is certainly a premium trimmer with its metal body and head. Dialing in the cut length is super convenient as I was tired of switching out guard sizes. I wish it got closer for lineups but it cuts consistently on beard and body.

I was looking to upgrade / replace my older 7400 Multigroom that I've had since 2016. It still worked great, but the battery hasn't been holding a charge as long as it used to. I figured I'd upgrade to the 9000 series. First thing is - this is not a replacement for a Multigroom, but it's still world's away a better beard shaver compared to the 7400. That said, there are some pro's, con's and trade-offs that have me still keeping my 7400 in the bathroom along side the 9000. First, the pro's of the 9000. This thing is a solid shaver, it doesn't feel cheap. It's made of metal and plastic which give it a good heft. The design of the 9000 is such that it can be left standing on the vanity by the sink, waiting for me to come up and shave. Taking up a smaller footprint is nice. Next, the 9000 can be used in the shower. My beard isn't long enough to warrant shower shaving, but it's nice to know that if it gets splashed or wet on the vanity that it won't fry the razor. The coolest feature of the 9000 is the guide. It's built into the razor itself and you can use the dial to go from 0.4 to 5" in length without using the included guard. You'll see in my pics there's a white number and a blue number on the dial. The White number is the length of the razor without the included guard attached. The Blue number is the length when you have the included guard snapped on. The guard adds an additional 5" in length, so the length goes from 5 to 10" in length with the guard attached. I leave mine set at 8" with the guard attached for an even shave. Battery life so far has been great, I've only left it to charge once or twice over night - but have been using it for several weeks now. Something Philips has FINALLY allowed is the ability to use the razor while it's plugged in - meaning if the battery goes kaput, I can always use it as a wired razor. But like all good things, where there are pro's there are also con's. Because the power port is on the bottom, there's no way to stand the razor up when it's charging, meaning you'll have to lie it down. Not horrible by any stretch of the imagination, but something to be aware of. I mentioned I'm still keeping my Multigroom 7400 in rotation and it comes down to the size of the detail head trimmer. The 9000 razor head is about an inch across, so if you want to get in tight around a soul patch, under your nose, or wherever - you might have a challenge because the 9000's head is bigger. The 7400's detail head was about 0.5" across allowing for a much tighter detail cut. Finally, because the razor allows for a 0.4 amount of hair, there's no way to get a totally clean shave with this. You'll always have some stubble left. If that's your jam, this isn't a negative - but if you're like me and you want some parts around the neck to be clean shaven, you'll need to use another razor, like a 3500 or something that's meant for clean shaves. All in all, I'm happy with this thing, I'm glad I got it.

The top trim head component is very loosely attached and keeps popping off with moderate usage. A metal tooth broke of the guard within 14 months. I've had a $30 Panasonic shaver for nearly eight years that still works and bought this to finally upgrade after weeks of research - Had very high hopes for this device and am incredibly disappointed.

The Philips Norelco Ultimate Beard and Hair Trimmer Series 9000 is the most precise trimmer for facial hair that I have ever owned. It looks & feels like a top quality instrument. The case is a combination of stainless steel & rubber. Instructions advise you to hold it by the rubber portion (year the blade) for precise control. This trimmer offers an easy to rotate thumb wheel to set the trimmer depth precisely. This is an amazing feature! Simply dial in the chosen depth & run it across your beard and mustache. It trims all hairs longer than the set depth with incredible accuracy. See this thumb dial on the photos I posted. * I have used this trimmer for a week & the rechargeable battery is still going. * The included black, zippered case is perfect for travel. * Easy clean up by holding the trimmer under the tap. It is waterproof. CONCLUSION: This Series 9000 is unquestionably the BEST beard & mustache trimmer I have ever used. You will love how the precise depth control creates the ideal style that will set you apart!

With their new Ultimate Beard and Hair Trimmer (BT9810), Norelco has beefed up the price and also the physical bulk. The turn-dial length adjuster is a creative way to eliminate the need for a handful of clipper guards (which are typically required to adjust the closeness of the shave). The trimmer has excellent battery life and plenty of power to cut stubble, beards, and full length hair, but it struggles to cut close to the skin making it a poor choice for shaping the edge of beards, goatees, moustaches, or for barber shop style fades. Without the one included guard, the maximum length vs the minimum length is hardly noticeable. See the attached pictures for a comparison of the longest stubble vs. the shortest stubble. The battery life is fantastic, it is water resistant, and it fits perfectly in the attached travel case, but I don’t believe it is a good value for the money. The BT8910 is bulky, strangely shaped, awkward to hold, gets messy by attracting hair clippings on the rubber and in the many crevasses , and it is twice the price of the Norelco Multigroom 7000 (MG7790) (seen in the comparison photos). Also, the ultimate beard & hair trimmer doesn’t include a nose / ear hair trimmer and the blade is much more difficult to replace. If you don’t already have a beard trimmer, the BT9810 will get the job done and will leave most people satisfied. But at twice the price of other comparable trimmers from the same company, I simply do not believe that it lives up to its name as the “Ultimate Beard & Hair Trimmer). Instead, I recommend tracking down the Multigroom 7000 because it is half the price and comes with a travel case, shaving screen, multiple clipper guards, cleaning brush, Nose / Ear hair trimmer, different sized blades for precise shaping / edging, and has an amazing battery life.

This trimmer is honestly the best trimmer you could find. I personally like to keep my beard very thin and slightly visible, not to the point where my skin shows. Setting the degree to 4mm is what works for me and I like the way my face feels afterwards. Definitely recommend this trimmer for everyone. I've had this trimmer for over half a year now and it's still going strong. The battery life is amazing, a single charge lasts me for weeks of occasional trimming. It's also very easy to clean and maintain. Just rinse the blades under water when needed and let it air dry. The trimmer is lightweight yet feels solidly built. I don't feel like it will break down anytime soon. The trim lengths are clearly indicated so it's easy to get the perfect cut each time. For the price, you really can't go wrong with this trimmer. It gives a close, clean shave without irritating my skin. Would definitely recommend to others.

I don't leave many reviews. This item demands a great review. The quality of this thing is insane. I like that there are not 50 attachments to it. It cuts amazingly well and fast. I use it on my head, beard and entire body. Washable – use it in the shower – so darn awesome. Battery life is very long. I cannot overemphasize the quality of this product and the cut it provides. I would have paid more that its price of $99. The adjustability of the blade height is more than I expected. It also cuts closer than any other electric trimmer/clippers I have owned. I have been cutting my own hair for over 20 years and I have seen a lot of trimmers. Nothing quite like this...it is waterproof!! Done. Get it!!

I am really coming to appreciate this high quality trimmer as part of my grooming routine. It is sleekly built and the all metal clipper is a huge upgrade from my previous trimmer. I also love that I finally have a trimmer that is rated for use in the shower as it feels so nice to trim up the beard when I am in there as opposed to by the sink. I appreciate the 3-bar LED battery life indicator that gives you a clear idea of how much battery is left. My previous trimmer would only flash a warning light for low battery when you had about 5 minutes of trim time left. It also appears that this trimmer charges from empty to full faster than any other trimmer I have ever had! This trimmer is really slick and even comes with a nice carrying case, white mineral oil, and a brush to keep the clippers clean. My only sadness with this trimmer is that it does not cut my beard as close to the skin as my previous Norelco trimmer. I love not having to use a razor on my neck and with these clippers I am almost feeling the need to again. Aside from that one small detail, I can't recommend this trimmer highly enough! Thanks Philips for another awesome trimmer in my grooming arsenal!

This is one of the first items that I have used that feels cheap but works really really well. The built quality is subpar, the base of the product feels like I would dent it if I squeezed hard enough but otherwise it work really good as a trimmer. The length adjustments are the best I have ever used, you can fade your beard in without the need of a professional. This little guy is excellent for creating lines/curves and designing your beard.I have yet to snag any hairs and the battery holds a really nice charge. I would say my only complaint is that the initial charging took forever and it doesn't get a super close cut if you're trying to removal all of your facial hair.

This beard trimmer has the ability to cut my beard super duper even compared to all the other trimmers I've had, brawn, panasonic and other Phillilps ones with plastic combs leave hairs uneven. This one is easy to adjust the length and has a extra comb in case you keep a longer beard. I cut my beard very short and this one is perfect for it. The metal comb is also essy to clean with a brush.

I was looking for a shaver that would satisfy my needs while traveling for long periods of time. The feel of the shaver is fantastic and solid. It has a good run time and one of the greatest benefits is the adjustability of the main head. That being said, there are a couple of large weaknesses. For one, only the shaver itself fits in the carry case. If you want to carry the charger and the additional head extension, you need to carry those separately. This feels like it should have been thought of by the engineers. Secondly, the cut is only mediocre. I find myself needing to do multiple passes in order to get an even cut. I have another philips norelco shaver with multiple heads and thus not as portable, but it is much stronger and cuts much more efficiently. I wanted a shaver that would allow me to cut both my hair and also my beard or goatee. If I were to do it over again, I would go with a different option. If you're a world traveler and are looking for a single solution on the go, it's worth your time to look at other options.

Being a long time beard wearer, I must've gone through a dozen or more of these trimmers; all of which have fallen under the $50 price range. This is a premium trimmer, and it feels like it. It has a beautiful tactile feel to the hand, and the finish is top notch. As for the cut, it has the power to breeze through the toughest beard without a snag or stall - very precise. The best way I can describe it is that using it, it sounds and feels like a barber's tool; very unlike the majority of products I've used in the past that are mostly plastic. If there is one place it falls short, it's in trying to trim your neck below the beard line - it will leave a bit more stubble than other trimmers I've owned in the past.

This is an awesome trimmer! I use it for overall body grooming and it does a fantastic job. You definitely get what you pay for in this model. It has a very high quality feel to it, and it performs perfectly. The adjustable trimmer head is awesome! I use it to shave me head, and then adjust it accordingly for other body parts! My only gripe is that it is a bit too loud...but I am being really picky.

It works great. Replacement for my 20 year old trimmer. The battery just didn't last long on it any longer. This one I've charged twice since Ive owned it. Works amazing and trims perfect. The only thing that I don't like about it, it doesn't have a "0" setting for a true finish for under chin beard trimming.. only goes down to 0.4. other than that it's been great and cleans super easy too.
