Great recorder for my everyday use. The size is optimal and the unit is rugged enough for rough handling and use. My only misgivings are the lost date and time every time I change the batteries and the fact that I have to shell out money every ten days or more for the replacement batteries. It could have been better if it is rechargeable, then I will give it a five star. The overall dimensions is the best for me, not too small so I can find it in a jiffy. My rechargeables are too small, almost half the size and easily misplaced and forgotten. The volume output of the unit is a bit low and at times are hard to comprehend. I have to connect to an amplified speaker for comfortable listening. The recorded audios are mostly clear if the unit is properly placed relative to the audio source. Overall, the unit is very good and after almost a year of use is still alive and kicking.

I bought the Philips - Voice Tracer Audio Recorder to aid in my writing a book. My best ideas seem to come to me when I don't have any way to stop and write them out. Now I just switch on my recorder and talk all of my ideas right into it without any problems. It works great and the playback is very clear. It is a perfect size and fits nicely in a pocket in my bag. This is the best thing that I have bought myself in a long time and I would be lost without it.

Used recorder to record a podcast via telephone call on speaker. It picked up both voices with clarity and high quality. Considering the cost it is a cost effective recorder to do podcasts with.

This recorder seems to work adequately for the most part, but the batteries for some reason do not last very long. It might be the settings I had it on, not sure. Interface not entirely intuitive, again that might be due to my reluctance to read user manuals. So have to give myself 3 stars, and the device 4. :-)

I purchased this product to use it to dictate our doctor's notes. This is easy to use. Once it is recorded, it can be uploaded in word. We can set it to different accents, so if your worker has certain accent, the machine will adjust it automatically to minimize errors. We stopped using third party dictation company for dictation work! It has saved us money and time! I definitely recommend it.

Love the fact that I can hook this up to my computer and word and it will dictate to word for me.

The recording and transcription feature really saves time typing

This was recommended by my sales clerk, Brandon. After he found out a little bit about me and my job, he told me about this product and how it would save me time. I have only used it a couple of times but it has done everything that he said it would by saving me time. I have to take some time to go in and make some adjustments on how it with type it on my computer but it is a very useful tool.

I love this recorder, I record meeting minutes and import them into dragon naturally speaking. Makes my day very efficient.

Dictation recorder My son has dyslexia and this was great for him in college he would record his professor lectures and then print it when he returned home

The recorder isn't great (barely mediocre), and the Dragon software for this is bunk. It would be faster, cheaper, and tons more accurate typing at anybody's normal pace than using this device. I returned it.

We needed something to record job meetings so we could have a record in case we needed to verify what was said in the future. This has been an easy way to do this.

even for a mature techie, this product was very tedious to use. Not at all user-friendly...which is a shame 'cause I REALLY needed the product. Some features are nice but too cumbersome to navigate.
