About this product

I have had one student here, a promising talent and a very good young man, I sincerely recommend him to you, put in a good word for him when he comes back, take him to your class; he is your namesake, I think you have played some of his pieces in Prague. His name is Novák, I am full of hope, since he is not only talented but also sensitive... This is a fragment of a letter from Bohuslav Martinu to Karl Novák of 14 February 1948 in which he mentions his student Jan Novák. Jan Novák (born on 8 April 1921 in Nová Ríše, died on 17 November 1984 in Ulm) was a Czech composer and pianist who would combine various influences in his music, including Classical period, Czech folklore, dodecaphony, and jazz inspirations. The composer's out-put is very varied in terms of instrumental selection. Apart from solo pieces for such instruments as guitar, organ, harpsichord, flute, violin, or piano, we find therein works for two, three, or more instruments. He also com-posed cantatas, film, ballet, theatre music, music for solo voice with accompaniment, and orchestral works.

Soroush Sadeghi - From Italy to Persia - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Persian folk music is a very old traditional music, mostly played and recorded with Persian instruments. However, we have chosen to record this collection with modern instruments such as the oboe and the piano. At a time when many people in the world are bound by the borders of their countries and crossing borders has become an important issue, I decided to record this collection. I want to express in my own language and with my music that music belongs to all countries of the world and knows no borders, and that one can clearly hear and realize similarities in the music of different countries. Antonio Pasculli's very special ideas and creativity shine through in his works. He challenges the musician in various ways, such as high tempi or the use of circular breathing. Perhaps for this reason, the works of this great Italian composer are very rarely performed and recorded. The Persian composer Reza Vali wrote several collections of Persian music for orchestra and chamber orchestra, including a collection of new Persian folk music. The second collection consisting of nine Persian folk songs was composed in 1981. The folk songs are based on traditional Persian melodies. In this collection Reza Vali uses the quarter-tone technique. These Persian folk pieces are performed and recorded here for the first time with the oboe. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the composers of this collection with this recording of their works. (Aryan Gheitasi) Album Tracks 1. Concerto Sopra Motivi Dell'opera 'La Favorita' Di Donizetti 2. 9 Persian Folk Songs 3. Palinderome 4. 3 Dialogues 5. Andante and Allegro

Haydn / Richter / Battig - At the Peak - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Trumpet and organ has us immediately thinking of trumpet tunes and trumpet voluntaries, of majestic, bombastic music by Henry Purcell and George Frideric Handel, of mixtures and reed stops that resound so strongly as to make church walls tremble. The music on this album does not adhere to those stereotypes it is very delicate, light, transparent, elegant. If one was to pigeon-hole it, the choice of genre would be difficult. From a musical point of view, it is located between the Baroque and the Classical eras, a period whose various art forms are given numerous labels early Classical, sensitive style, Rococo, Sturm und Drang. In addition to numerous performances as a soloist and chamber musician, Immanuel Richter is also principal trumpet player of the Sinfonieorchester Basel. Together with Hans Jürg Bättig on the organ, the trumpeter has slowly approached the works of this , often playing them in concerts in order to become completely familiar with the music. There is no instrument in his eyes that fits the trumpet better than the organ. The timbres merge into each other and complement each other wonderfully. Album Tracks 1. Trompetenkonzert Nr. 1 in Es-Dur~I. Allegro 2. Trompetenkonzert Nr. 1 in Es-Dur~II. Larghetto 3. Trompetenkonzert Nr. 1 in Es-Dur~III. Vivace 4. Trompetenkonzert Nr. 1 in C-Dur~I. Adagio 5. Trompetenkonzert Nr. 1 in C-Dur~II. Vivace 6. Trompetenkonzert Nr. 2 in Es-Dur~I. Allegro ma moderamente 7. Trompetenkonzert Nr. 2 in Es-Dur~II. Largo 8. Trompetenkonzert Nr. 2 in Es-Dur~III.
