I purchased the speakers for listening to my stereo. They match my bookcase , and the perfect size.

GENERAL I have a pair of these in a 360 sq ft theater room. I have these set up paired with the matching center and two floorstanding speakers (will be adding two more BS to get 7.1). Having spent a lot of money on a projector and screen money was very tight. These speakers came out on sale at frys which Amazon price matched and I decided to give BB a call to see if they would price match as well. They did. Got them same day with store pick up and I get points. SOUND WOW. I paid around $400 for 1 Pair FS, 2 Pair Bookshelf, 1 Center. I have only 1 Pair of BS set up right now and I was blown away. I have a large room and needed great and BALANCED sound. these easily compete with a set worth twice its value. If you're not a hardcore audiophile and are looking to start somewhere this is it. Look no further. These BS and powerful and deliver very accurate sound. Watching action movies make you feel apart of the movie. "CON" There size is large but if you want a good speaker you have to accept that. the annoying part about the size is that there is no mounting option. the speakers have no keyhole mount or pre-drilled holes. you have to put them on a shelf or buy and mount that uses tension to hold speaker in place. It may seem obvious that Bookshelf speakers to be placed in a bookshelf unit but that is NOT true. you need to leave at least 3-4" space behind the speaker to allow for the port to be unobstructed. Also, you dont want walls of a bookshelf impeding natural flow of sound. Best options are to install a shelf or buy tension speaker mounts that dont require drilling into the speaker. FYI my setup is paired with Klipsch Reference 12 sub and Denon AVR.

Bought these as the surround speakers after I previously purchased the matching floor standing models from the Andrew Jones series by Pioneer. True that my comparison is really apples to oranges, because I came from a HTIB system that was several years old. After I purchased a modern receiver and the front floor standing models, I decided that I HAD to have the other models from this series. They are incredible, the clarity at high volumes is beautiful, the range is remarkable for a speaker of this size in my opinion. Assuming proper placement from a nearby wall (the venting ports face rearward) they do produce decent lows even. I purchased these on a black Friday sale that could not be beat. But planned on purchasing them before hand at full retail price! I would certainly not discourage anyone from getting the full set of the Andrew Jones series. Room acoustics play a major role in sound quality, so again could be apples to oranges, but a friend of mine has some very large (very expensive) speakers made a by some company that rhymes with "blipche", and we both agree that my system it's more clear at obnoxious volume levels than his. There are most likely fancier/better speakers out there, but I'll go out on a limb here and say that, at this price point, these cannot be beat!

I have nothing but great things to say about these speakers. I heard about these speakers on several audio web sites and all of the good things they say about these speakers are true. These speakers are very clear and musical. They are also extremely neutral. These speakers let you hear the music as it was intended to be heard. Yes, these are small speakers and have only 4" woofers, so they will not have the base extension of large speakers. But they go way deeper than you would think and they sound good doing so. This pair was purchased for my son who is learning how to produce music in college (Music Tech degree). He says they are much better than most of the studios at school, except for some of the best setups that cost many $1000's. These speakers are Highly recommended and I'll probably buy another set for myself soon!

Speakers are great, both for movie watching and listening to music. Speakers are large and finding appropriate wall mounts can be a little challenging, but overall they are well worth the price.

I was surprised when i hooked them up. Excellent sound for smaller speakers! Worth the money. They were not even that much, a little over 100.00 i think.,.i think. Cant go wrong with Pioneer. I had to get ride of my big floor speakers and I'm still very satisfied :)

sound quality is very good, and the pricing makes it a very reasonable value. The wiring clips were easy to access and accepted wire without too much twisting and turning. Size of the case is a bit large for a shelf speaker, but fits reasonably well and worth the speaker size and quality.

The Andrew Jones designed Pioneer speakers have been discussed all over the internet recently and for good reason. I bought them because of all the buzz so I could hear them myself and I wasn't disappointed. The BS22LRs are far better than they should be at their price point and offer an amazing value for the quality of sound. The highs are just a bit soft (in a good way), but they are extremely clear and the midrange is also very clean and natural sounding. For their size, they produce a very wide stage and perform very well even when pushed hard (I ran them in 3 systems ranging from 30W to 200W). I've listened to a lot of speakers and own a few that are far more expensive than these, and these still please me every time I listen to them. The appearance (with grills on) is a bit plain, almost unattractive to me, but the sound quality they offer easily offsets that for me. They won't replace high end bookshelf speakers well above this price range, but they are absolutely worth a listen.

These speakers perform better than speakers that are twice the price. Bass was suprising. I have used them with solid state amps, a tube amp, and the famed lepai t amp. They preformed great in every situation. The addition of a subwoofer takes these up another level.

I bought these for my son who started college this year. His 2nd hand book shelf speakers went out on him shortly after he moved in. I purchased these online and had them put in will call at a Best Buy in his area. The only bad part was it took a week to get speakers shipped from a store that was less than an hour to son's store location. He says the sound quality is incredible and it rocks the whole floor of his dorm. He states the bass is great and they don't take up much room. His tastes in sound quality are very high, which makes me think I need to buy a pair for my teenage son (or maybe me). I have been a Pioneer fan for over 30 years and have never been let down. The other cool thing is that I was able to submit a personal message in the email notification to him. He was floored!

I was curious about these little bookshelf speakers, as I was looking to upgrade my workshop sound system. I was surprised at the bottom end punch coming out of these little speakers. I'm running them with a Pioneer VSX-522 and a Polk subwoofer. They have a nice balance and natural sound which is unheard of at this price. Most low priced bookshelf speakers are either boomy or too tinny sounding in the midrange and highs. Andrew Jones did a great job designing these little gems. Give them some time to break in, at least 40+ hours, before judging them. As they break in, the clarity and detail starts to really come alive. They can play quite loud with out straining, and easily handle the 80 watts/channel of the VSX-522. I'm sure they would sound even better with a higher quality receiver than the VSX-522. I'm thinking about getting another pair for my home office!

I have these connected to an Onkyo receiver (100W/channel) in a 7.1 config with 2x Pioneer SP-FS52, 4x Pioneer SP-BS22, 1x SP-C22, and a nice Polk Audio Subwoofer. These sound great, they provide very clear highs and mids, and good bass (though I would not use these without a subwoofer in a home theater setup). Hope that helps!

Well built, good sound, decent bass for a small driver. Would prefer speakers to be front ported. I am still breaking them in.

I replaced my 10 year old JBL speakers with Pioneer's SP-BS22. I could not be happier. The sound is fantastic. They are great at high volumes to whisper quiet in both movies and music. For the price they sound just as good as $300+ speakers, if not better. Plus I picked them up as an open box for even less than $100.. My best purchase this year.

They sounded good for the money , however you need some power behind them at 6 ohms. The speakers are the same as the towers for the upper , but they wont give you any bottom end like other books will. I would run a sub with them even in a 2 channel system. Don't use these for rear surround as they are too large and have no way to mount them on speaker hangers , you would need monitor stands.

I had been hearing about these speakers for over a year and finally bought them. The sound is hypnotic especially in the vocal range. I had access to some Vandersteen 2c speakersrecently. It was then I realized how weak my Polks were in some areas. Well these 'Pioneers have the same vocal qualities as some very expensive speakers. Highs are good and bass is surprising. Theses are my main speakers now with my Polk towers as surrounds.

These speakers are easy to conceal due to size put pack a punch!!! Great sound quality great for lows and highs without an over kill. I use these in my media room they are a great combination with my larger pioneers in the pool room which provides strong bass

These speakers look nice. They are the right size. The sound at home is very solid. Was sold by the comparison sound test in the store.

Unbelievable sound produced from such a small box. Surprised at how much better my stereo system sounded with these small speakers. Easy to hookup with color coded terminals and the twist speaker wire connectors on the back, no need for special speaker wire connectors. Cabinets are finished nicely although the backs are rounded and it takes sometime to get use too. I do not think you can find a better speaker at this price. These speakers are heavy and solidly build. Great value for the money,

I bought these after reading numerous reviews which praised their price to performance ratio. I use them in conjunction with an older Yamaha 5.1 receiver and a Klipsch subwoofer and I must say that they sound much better than even high end computer speakers. I will admit that I initially overlooked them because of their small woofers, but in the end I was pleasantly suprised with their low end reproduction.
