Psycho is a recognized film with a well-known story about Marion Crane performed by Janet Leigh. She works inside of a Phoenix, Arizona office and when Marion’s employer trusts her with a larger amount of money, and he gives it to her. Marion wants to live a new life with her fiancé, Sam, performed by John Gavin. Marion leaves right away and she drives with her car towards Southern California where her lover is located. When Marion is caught by a major storm later on in the movie, she leaves the highway and enters Bates Hotel property. The hotel has twelve rooms, and they are managed by a strange young man, Norman Bates performed by Anthony Perkins, who is obsessed and dependent on his overbearing mother. Furthermore, a detective named Arbogast performed Martin Balsam, and Marion’s sister are performed by Vera Miles. Her fiancé Sam and Marion’s sister are looking for Marion. They are asking for help from a stubborn sheriff performed by John McIntire. The shower scene in the movie is one of the most studied, copied and analyzed sequences in cinema history because the toilet was the first to show up in this film. Beautiful performance by Anthony Perkins is in an immortal role as Norman Bates and a memorable performance by Janet Leigh. Imaginative and superbly constructed plot, filled with delicious black humor by writer Joseph Stefano based on Robert Bloch's novel, Psycho. The shots in the movie were excellent in black and white cinematography by the cameraman John Russell. Hitchcock thought it wouldn’t be very gory in color, and this was a low budget horror film. The musical score by legendary Bernard Herrmann makes it is endlessly encouraging score to create a thrilling atmosphere for a virtuous film.

Image quality and sound are amazing. Even though I have seen this film many times this version elevates the experience to a level as if I am seeing it for the first time. I am seeing and hearing things in this version that I never noticed before.

This film stands out as one of Hitchcocks best! The performances are powerful, and even with time and multiple viewings it stands up.

Still an excellent movie (although the ending goes heavy with the hand-holding), Psycho looks and sounds amazing on 4K. Be warned though: the "uncut" version is not Alfred Hitchcock's preferred version, as advertised, but rather the version he sent to the censors and always intended to trim down. The extra thirteen seconds add nothing.

I've seen Psycho in many different formats. This is hands down the best. Full 4k picture here. It looks incredible. HDR 10 really helps the black levels. No dolby vision on this disc. Audio, there is a new track which is DTS X track from a DTS 5.1 and sounds incredible. The score is excellent from opening minutes. There is also a purists version as it was shown originally. This is the first time that the true uncut version has ever been released on home media. No edits.

What more can be said about this classic film? You know it, you love it, and this is the best it has ever looked on home video, or maybe ever! It has been remastered to the best picture quality possible, and the sound is nice and clear. Not only that, this version has been restored to its original theatrical release (all home video versions were slightly edited in the shower scene), so this is the first time in decades that this version has been available!

Excellent picture quality, as is the case with vertigo and rear window. They seem to be doing hitchcock justice on 4k. Don't know how the birds and the films of vol. 2 look. I think I'm going to pick that up as set, as I've only seen 2 out of the 5 films in that set. Hope to see north by northwest and the 39 steps come to UHD. Rope would be cool too.

Love the movie as one of my favorites from Alfred Hitchcock films and it looks great on 4K remaster and watched the uncut version of it. I would recommend it for anyone who loves his films and add it to your collection if you have 4K blu ray player or use Xbox series X or PS5.

I recently upgraded my blu ray player to 4k ultra hd and did a comparison of sesveral 4k discs the the blu rays I already own. Hands down the blu rays were far superior in picture quality and sound quality. There is no way these 4k discs are 4X better in resolution or sound

I had seen this film many, many times, the clarity of the film made it more realistic. Although it being color (which it is not) would have it even better.
