The classic James Dean-led film arrives on stunning 4K Ultra HD for the first time! The late star shines as a misguided youth with significant parallels to his own life. Two other gone-too-soon stars, Natalie Wood and Sal Mineo, star alongside Dean, all of whom were real life friends. No movie buff can miss this slice of film history.

I had heard good things about the main character. The movie arrived in perfect condition with a slip cover. I can't wait to become a fan too.

Anything with James Dean is a winner! EAST OF Eden was hard to watch as it was personal. Giant was good but I don't like Rock Hudson.

The movie itself is considered one of the seminal "coming-of-age" films in American film history. James Dean at his height of popularity and status, the golden age of cinema on full display! The story has been reproduced and hashed numerous times over the decades, but this film holds up surprisingly well. The acting is good, the direction and set production is very good. Having this one in your library is a smart move. The technical aspects of the film are OK. The sound is off the original master, so while crisp and even, there is very little in the way of sound mixing or spatial sound. It's clean and for the dialogue-driven piece, it does well. The picture quality is somewhat pixelated, a common refrain for converting older masters into the new digital age, but the color saturation is minimized and clean. It just looks "old" which may not be a bad thing either. Definitely worth picking up if you're a film collector or even one who appreciates classic films that helped shape the motion picture world.

This is one of the greatest movies on teenage disillusionment. It illuminates the picture that molded the counter-culture generation - one of confusion and pain and the effort to be an individual apart from the WWII generation.

Great coming of age movie. The 4k transfer is good, considering the movie is almost 70 years old. For $10 bucks. It's a great deal. If you already have the Blu-ray. I would skip buying the 4k.

Really insane that they were able to make this film look as good as it does. Hardly any grain and what little is left is due to the limitations of their cameras at the time

“Can’t you see you’re tearing me apart!” - Jimmy Dean. It’s crazy how cool older movies look in 4k. You can see things you never noticed before through the grain. This film is definitely about a very specific time in our history that is so far gone it’s hard to think we were ever that innocent. The concept of teenagers was relatively new in the 50s/60s. See how far consumerism has brought us!?

Great to find this classic movie starring James Dean in 4K. These seem to be harder to find these days. Definitely one of my favorite movies.

I watched it for the first time in years! Great film and a great cast. This was one of Dean's best, along with Natalie Wood's.

James Dean classic still holds up 70 years later. Looks great in 4k. Natalie Wood and Sal Mineo help provide depth to teen angst.
