Ill start by saying im a software developer and very gadget savvy. I previously had a swann system for 8 years, finally decided to upgrade my system. So glad i did. Its a 16 channel 4tb, comes with 8 cameras, i bought 2 extra. Its also expandable to 8 additional wireless cameras. The cameras: Taking the cameras out of the box, you can tell they are quality made , well built. Heavy compared to the swann cameras i replaced. Im super impressed with the image quality of the cameras, the clarity is excellent. Im also impressed with the features of the cameras . The motion light is extremely useful, the sound recording, you can talk through each camera. The infrared night vision is very clear. The dvr: Setting up was easy, it was very plug and play. The interface is well thought out and easy to navigate. I used a Bluetooth mouse, and setup a tv as a monitor. Very intuitive navigation and setup. Setting up on my home network was easy. Mobile app: Mobile app works great, almost as good as the main UI. Very responsive, easy to zoom and control cameras. Couple of negatives, but not huge deals. The ethernet cables that come with the cameras are wound up super tight, bent at angels, and hard to unwind. I spent a lot of time just trying to unravel the cords. The ethernet cables are 100 feet, but 4 of the cameras needed 150 feet. I had to buy longer cables.

So far, three weeks into a new system, the old was Swann, I like the Reolink 16 channel NVR. The cameras are a little complicated, but with anything, we learn. The monitor playback should be easier and fully user friendly. The phone playback is ok, but should be easier.

I was sceptacle on buying these or the 4k version, I am so glad I spent more for the 12MP. I compared these with a Ubiquiti setup and the ease of use is comparable if not better. The Reolink app was easy to setup on iPhone and desktop. Very happy with purchase.

I rather go with a Lorex. Lorex is way more clear easier to set up
