Love the whole Rio collection of movies the are super cute

I picked this one up for the grandkids, who are big fans of the sequel "Rio 2" and similar fare ("The Secret Life of Pets," "Madagascar," etc.) but oddly never caught this original animated foray into anthropomorphic talking exotic birds. Jesse Eisenberg gives voice to Blu, a Central American macaw poached by smugglers as a hatchling who ends up living the domesticated life of a caged pet in Minnesota. His owner believes Blu might be the last of his kind, but then she learns of a female in Brazil (voiced by Anne Hathaway) and adventure ensues as these two mismatched lovebirds take flight to evade those evil smugglers again and return to freedom in the jungle. Okay, so Shakespeare it's not, but the colors pop and a few of the songs are catchy.

Originally upon purchasing real one I had never watched it however I did watch Rio 2 and absolutely loved it. So I figured that if I purchased real one it would be just as amazing as Rio 2. The original Rio was good and it explains more in depth of the history behind the birds however Rio 2 has so much better music and if so hilarious and cute a really good choice for family movie night.

This movie is pretty good, and Eisenberg and Hathaway are likewise pretty good as two birds, including one who can't fly. This didn't and wouldn't win any awards, but the setting of Rio is mostly enjoyable, even if it's flattened to "lush nature, the favelas, the beach and Carneval"

It’s truly heartbreaking that these birds no longer exist. But these movies are beautiful, and a sad reminder that we need to value the existence of all life.

I think one of the best movies I have ever seen, love the history, voices and cartoons are incredible , I have to have it in my collection.

Enjoyed this feature tremendously, great music and very colorful. Seeing it once is not enough so I bought the second feature to this.

The Rio movies are colorful fun family movies for kids of varying ages. Good to have around when the internet goes out.

I had the second movie and not sure what happened to the first but my Grandson loves these movies so I had to get this.

Such a fun and upbeat movie. The music, animation and dancing makes you want to get up and move! Fun for all ages!

At first I though this is just children fun movie. But it teaches people or children a (good) thing or two.

I watched because I was bored. It's actually a great animated film, vibrant colors and funny.

My daughter loves this movie so much. She knows every song and dances even while in the car.

We saw the commercials for this movie and it looked like it would be Rio Good for the grand kids.

Very good movie! I love the story! I can watch it so many times and never get bored!
