About this product

Plunge is Sam Evian's 4th studio album, and the debut on his new imprint Flying Cloud Recordings/Thirty Tigers set for on March 22, 2024. Joined by his closest friends and collaborators (including Liam Kazar, Sean Mullins, El Kempner of Palehound and Adrianne Lenker of Big Thief), the album was tracked live to tape in the early winter months of 2023 over a 10-day period at his quaint Flying Cloud Recording studio tucked away in the Catskills Mountains. With a wide-open recording approach, the result is Evian's best album to date a cathartic rock record that melds power pop, iridescent guitar, raucous psychedelia, and Sam's now sought-after grooves. The music is both fresh and familiar, sonically inspired by his penchant for early 70s production and creatively propelled by the free-spirited process depicted in the Beatles documentary Get Back, as well as his urge to let go. InchNo-one knew the songs or what the plan was. We kept it loose and fun. This was the spirit of the sessions. No headphones, no playback, minimal overdubs, or bleed. Fast and looseInch Evian remarks. - Lyrically, Plunge is heavier than previous records, touching on themes surrounding his family, from unearthing past traumas, to celebrating his parents' creative influence on his life. InchRelationships stalling, failing, coming back together, Inch says Evian. It is an album about love. It's an homage to true love finding it's way home, even if it takes a bit of a beating along the way. Album Tracks 1. Wild Days 2. Jacket 3. Rollin' in 4. Why Does It Take So Long 5. Freakz 6. Wind Blows 7. Runaway 8. Another Way 9. Stay

Peter Bjargo - The Translucency Of Mind's Decay - VINYL LP

Written and recorded during 2020, a year marked by forced quarantine with in turn proved to be a prolific time for musical composition. It is an album about change, aging and the fading memories one has, often more of a product of the current state of a person than an accurate description of those remembered moments. With age we tend to forget or lose contact with particular moments and parts of our own story and context become erased forever, as though they never happened. With this album, Peter Bjärgö takes the first steps into something new, bringing along his signature sound from past projects into a slowly evolving transition to a sonic world beyond his previous achievements. Leaning towards a more ethnic, rhythmic sound, integrated with his now trademark melancholic guitar work and deep solemn vocals, these are the first steps to a new horizon he's ceaselessly crafting for our listening pleasure.

Sam Evian - You Forever - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

As it has been said no matter where you go, there you are. With his new album You, Forever, Sam Evian, the project of New York-based musician, songwriter, and producer Sam Owens, is here to add some eternity to that sentiment. InchThis is you, forever,Inch he says. InchIt's about accepting that you are responsible for you, that you're in charge of your actions. Everything you do affects others and yourself, so, no matter what you choose to do, be there and learn from it.Inch It's a mantra that powers self-starter Owens, who debuted his first Sam Evian full-length, Premium, in the fall of 2016. The notion takes on a dual meaning that is echoed across You, Forever. You, Forever is Owens's foray into a more soul-baring sensibility and places the artist directly in the sightlines and heartlines of his listeners. The album (as well as 2017's InchNeed You,Inch a collaboration with the multi-hyphenate musician Chris Cohen) was written on the heels of his experience touring Premium with his band and was recorded across the latter half of last year. The tours-which included opening shows for bands like Whitney, Big Thief, Teenage Fanclub, Luna, Nick Hakim and Lucius-taught him much about feel and interaction. Further fueled by a desire to escape from the glow of screens and to embrace a sense of limitation, he quickly developed a new set of songs for his band and recorded them on a Tascam four-track cassette recorder at his parents' house in North Carolina. Owens then borrowed an eight-track reel-to-reel tape recorder from a friend, rented a house in upstate New York, and took the band - Brian Betancourt (bass), Austin Vaughn (drums), Adam Brisbin (guitar), and Hannah Cohen (backup vocals) - there to record the new album in July of 2017. The limitations of the method - Sam even banned tuning pedals - focused the recording process on the vibe he had achieved on the original fo

Sam Doores - Sam Doores - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

2020 . 'Recording in a foreign environment like Berlin, I was inspired to experiment with more cinematic, psychedelic sounds,' says Sam Doores, 'but my love for old-school New Orleans R&B, Memphis soul and rock n' roll, Detroit Motown and gospel, doo-wop, early blues and folk music will probably always bleed into whatever I do. Recording this album was an opportunity to explore the space between these worlds.' With his captivating self-titled debut, Sam Doores has done precisely that. Written on-and-off over the course of several years, the collection is classic and contemporary all at once, blending traditional southern roots with adventurous sonic landscapes as it reckons with heartache and loss, love and gratitude, fresh starts and, ultimately, a whole lotta change. The performances are infectious in their ease, simple on the surface but built on foundations of deep emotional and harmonic complexity that belie their amiable exteriors. Album Tracks 1. Tempelhofer Dawn 2. Let It Roll 3. Other Side of Town 4. Cambodian Rock N' Roll 5. Wish You Well 6. Windmills 7. Had a Dream 8. This Ain't a Sad Song 9. Solid Road 10. Red Leaf Rag 11. Push on 12. Must Be Somethin' 13. Nothing Like a Suburb 14. Chicago to Illinois
