After spending two years living on opposite coasts and pursuing their own creative projects, Ivan Howard and Kelly Crisp returned last spring to set to work on the sixth full-length album from the Rosebuds. Joining up with Bon Iver front man Justin Vernon (a friend and former band mate who, in a 2011 interview, noted that the Rosebuds make 'some of the most important music in the world'), the North Carolina-bred duo spent a week in Vernon's studio teasing out a batch of songs that effortlessly weave the hooky song craft of classic jangle-pop, the cagey romanticism of new wave, and a refined yet full-hearted sensibility all their own. I started playing music publicly when I was fourteen years old in Phila, Pa. I am proficient in playing guitar and drums as well as vocals.Which I am self taught. The world of music has always been a part of my life, both as a soloist and a member of a musical group, playing from memory. I have written musical compositions and created musical ideas, using knowledge of harmonic, rhythmic, melodic and total structure within the music scope. I've toured throughout the U.S and Canada. Back in the late 70's I performed in two world tours with The Village People as musical director for my band BITTER SWEET. During this time I was awarded a Gold and Platinum Album. I worked with Robert Palmer on the Heavey Nova Album on EMI Records. In addition I worked on sound track 'Sweet Lies' for Island Records and composed for T.V. shows and commercials both International and in the U.S. I've also had the opportunity to perform with personalities such as The Richie Family, Inga Rumph, Patti Labelle, Ben E.
