About this product
Understand one thing Despite the retro-sounding handle, Chips are anything but an Eighties nostalgia act. Granted, there might be a few traces of no wave in the duo's musical DNA, as their eponymous in nova debut would seem to indicate, but the same could be said of surf music, bebop, and Armenian folk melodies, to name but a few of the tactical options these young men wield so wildly and so well. If anything, drummer Sean Noonan (who also drives THE HUB) and guitarist Aram Bajakian have the lion's share of their rhizomes planted firmly in the neophilic neighborhood also occupied by John Zorn, Ruins, Fred Frith, and Cul de Sac. It's a sunny grove (except when it storms), where jazz, rock, and all kinds of experimentation converge freely and openly-without shame, fear, or the threat of a bad hangover. And, like their esteemed peers, Chips frolic. Album Tracks 1. Chips 2. Goliath 3. Scabies 4. Car Bomb 5. Karslama 6. Masana 7. For You 8. Esspi 9. Robot Love 10. Our Country

For the first time ever available in record stores, the redesignrecalls the mysterious, multi-layered sound of Flashy Python'sSkin And Bones. The hidden covers revealed by die-cut andsemi-transparency as well as translucent rouge vinyl paytribute to the haunting yet playful spirit of an album that could(and should) have been another CYHSY record. The limited deluxe reissue is being released in the wake of the20th anniversary of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, the classic selftitled debut album, and it's celebratory 2025 worldwide tour.InchPhilly indie luminaries/friends (members of Dr. Dog, Mazarin, theWalkmen, and Man Man appear) to collaborate on a wheezy, dark songcycle-cum-inebriated stumble down South StreetInch PitchforkInchIf I want to do something with a particular group of people, I will,Inch AlecOunsworth said in 2008. This project saw him build a barn studio behindhis house and work with friends like Matt Barrick (The Walkmen), ScottMcMicken, Toby Leaman (Dr. Dog), Quentin Stoltzfus (Mazarin), and BillyDufala (Man Man). Skin & Bones emerged as a louche, loose album awoozy blend of barroom rock 'n' roll, trippy desert blues, and Beatlesesque melodies. Wurlitzer and Hammond organ weave throughout, alongside jagged guitars, pedal steel, and saxophone. Barrelling drumsand Ounsworth's idiosyncratic delivery tie it together.
