A true discovery for lovers of classic Lieder, this new opens up the hitherto scarcely noticed repertoire of the Austrian composer Johann Vesque von Puttlingen, songs that are full of musical irony and the wonderful idiom of the 19th century. The soprano Caroline Jahns and pianist Hedayet Jonas Djeddikar have intensively worked on these gems by Vesque and derived much pleasure from fathoming out the humor of this music for voice and piano. Both artists are united by a passion for the charm and delights hidden in the familiar circles of the Romantic art song. Unfortunately, developments in society toward the end of the 19th century heralded the decline of the salons and, with them, the audiences that relished Johann Vesque von Puttlingen's satirical songs. So it is now our job to rediscover and appreciate the value of these rare works. The songs on this album present a composer who stands out from the multitude of song composers as one of the all-time greats. Album Tracks 1. Gelehrte, Fabrikanten, Fürsten Und Pfaffen 2. ![Obermuller / Ensemble Musikfabrik - Karola Obermuller - COMPACT DISCS [CD]](https://pisces.bbystatic.com/image2/BestBuy_US/images/products/b81bdfd1-461a-427f-aa82-9741d7b3b737.jpg;maxHeight=422;maxWidth=264?format=webp)
Energetic as well as poetic is Karola Obermüller's music, and it reveals hidden and unknown elements underneath the multilayered musical material. Many of the works on this portrait album in the series Edition Zeitgenossische Musik were developed as work in progress during a long period of time. Distinctive for Obermüller's work are therefore the reflection from several perspectives and the superposition of different layers of sound. Zooming in on musical details is another special feature in several of her pieces as in InchPulstastungInch for example. Here the distances between the musical occurrences are going to be extended more and more, Inchwith an increasing pulse at the same timeInch (Karola Obermüller). Obermüller is receiving a special inspiration by ancient poetic texts as from the Greek poet Sappho. Here she finds the essences of human existence like light and night, eros and longing. In InchUntergegangen der MondInch and Inch... silbern.Inch her music tries Inchto create moments of magicInch (Volker Blumenthaler). In InchMyrmeciaInch microtonal shiftings are confronted with percussive making of sound, which are creating a Inchstrange, crackling, and insisting stream of soundInch, the composer compares to the wild activity of the primordial ant, the title is derived from. The instrumentation of the pieces on this album offer a panorama from solo pieces for bass flute (Camilla Hoitenga) or piano (Emanuele Arciuli) and an extraordinary instrumentation with guitar, hammered dulcimer and harp (International Contemporary Ensemble) arriving at big pieces for ensemble (Ensemble Modern and Ensemble Musikfabrik). Album Tracks 1. Untergegangen der Mond, Sapphische Strophen für Countertenor/Bass und Ensemble 2. Myrmecia für Gitarre, Harfe und amerikanisches Hackbrett (Dulcimer) 3. Pulstastung für Klavier~I 4. Pulstastung für Klavier~II 5. Mass Distance
