This air purifier does a great job. It normally lives in my bedroom but recently visited the kitchen when I burned a pot if rice very badly. My kitchen was filled with smoke. After the initial opening of windows and cranking up ceiling fans a strong smoky smell remained so I closed everything up and turned my plasmacluster on high. The air was completely smoke and smell free within a couple of hours. Do pay attention to the size, though. It's bigger than I realized. I ended up exchanging the ones I had bought for my kids' smaller bedrooms for smaller purifiers.

Creates a very cool breeze. Unlike fans that only have negative ions, those fans cause heat in the nostrils. This creates very pleasant negative and positive ions.But the only thing I don't like is that when the fan is in sleep mode it makes a clicking sound like the 20 year old exhaust fan in my bathroom. The sound gets louder and louder over time. I just bought this fan about 1-2 months ago. When I opened the box the first day I heard it. But now it sounds even louder. I don't know how loud it will be a year later. If you want to buy this fan you must make sure that you can withstand the sound when you sleep or fall asleep.
