Hard as nails turn based combat with demons to use and collect. Story is a bit shakier than prior entries, but gameplay is still just as solid.

The originator of monster catching games if you are a fan of Pokémon and want a more mature experience than smt v is the right choice it has clean graphics a whole array of monsters, adecent story, hard endgame boss and awesome soundtrack. The only negative is sometimes the frame rate can drop a bit other than that it a pretty good game.

If you enjoy rpg or the previous Shin Megami Tensei games you'll love this one. The graphics are some of the best on the Switch and the game is incredibly engrossing. As you play you realize how well the game was balanced as you never really feel to overpowered or under powered. It's a great story with great pacing so you'll be left wishing there was more of the game even after spending the equivalent of days playing it.

Arrived earlier than anticipated. SMTV is a challenging, more mechanics-based JRPG that fans coming over from the Persona series will feel, fundamentally, right at home with. While as of writing there has been less narrative than expected, the game is beautiful even when played on Switch Lite and runs well. Gameplay-wise, bosses are expected to be tough, though random encounters with enemies can also prove to be worthy obstacles in their own right and demand your attention and concentration especially when moving into new territory. Proper planning and understanding of stats, strengths, and weaknesses are crucial. A difficult and methodical experience that I am overall delighted with.

Apart from some slowdown in surprising places upon my first session (it took forever to load voice samples the first time, for some reason!) SMT V is exactly what you'd expect from the series: a slight, brooding, high school protagonist exploring a strange atmosphere, making deals with demons. Just what you want out of an SMT game. BUT THIS IS SMT, NOT PERSONA. Don't expect dating sims or the art style. This is the main series and it is different. An old-school, grind-heavy JRPG loaded with style and content.

This game is one of the best game on the switch. Great gameplay with great story. It is like a mature version of Pokémon game.

Great and innovative game. Visualizing it’s previous games, this game has provided plenty of corrections to simplify the process of demon creating meanwhile keeping the game difficulty high enough to make it challenging. Of course it always has save spots that require you to run a bit back to the location, but that is helped by the recall function which is honestly something I forget about but is good.

If you are a Shin Megami Tensei fan you need to get this one. If you are not but willing to try a great apocalyptic Turn base JRPG then go ahead!! I just feel that is its your first JRPJ experience you might have a bit of a hard time with it just because of its complexity.

Shin Megami Tensei V for the Nintendo Switch is a very good game. It starts out with humans, but the main character turns into a powerful character that fights some very familiar opponents, that is if you play any of the Persona titles. It is turn based and the more powerful you get, the quicker the fight.

Tough game, but if you have played this series you know this. More of the same , looks nice on switch.

This is like the first jrpg I've played in recent memory where there was hardly any intro at all, as opposed to 4-8 hours of intro content to ramp up. This game more or less throws you right in and I've found it really engaging so far. As an old school gamer, I love a classic grind when just lounging around. Crazy art and story, too!

I don't play the game but my child loves it. Nothing else matters. from what i have seen, graphics are nice. seems to have an older person's subject matter. would not recommend for someone under 10.
