Good pancake lens for Sony ASP-C. Small and compact on a Sony alpha 5 series camera body. Could fit in your pocket with lens on. Decently wide aperture for slight bokeh effect on portraits. Decent in low light. Wide angle shots. Good for street, landscape, real estate and venue photography.

Ideal lense for shooting in low light and is compatible with an ultra wide converter.

I love my wide angel lens! I've been wanting one since I first started shooting in the '70's, and finally treated myself to this lovely companion to my new Sony A7!

I love this lens. I wanted a lens that took wide angles and this lens did that for me. I was able to take great photos of sunsets when I was on vacation in Nevada. I really like this lens.

I use this lens to take landscape photos on my Sony A6000. The lens does indeed take wide shots and I would say it's pretty crisp. I'm not an expert on photography so I can give a simpleton review. However I would definitely not use this for simple street photography because the lens will make objects seem small. Unless you're trying to achieve that look then go ahead. Though I feel as if the Ultra Wide Angle Converter is almost necessary to obtain an even cleaner, sharper photo look. Also if you want to take selfies, this is the lens for you! Using this lens on the A6000 does make the camera look like a point and shoot therefore giving a compact look! The quality is pretty good and I expect it to last until I will get my next camera.

A lot of photographic knowledge goes into claiming "50mm is the standard field of view." I call bull! This 16mm lens (24mm in full-frame/35mm film world) is how I like to see the world - wide! It's a prime lens so it's sharper than any zoom. Some people say it's soft in the corners, but I say 'meh.' I've owned $1700 Canon L lenses that are soft in the corners! Stop it down a bit and go out and use this lens - enjoy the perspective. This is a great lens for exploring a new field of view with your Sony APC sensor camera. A great fit for my silver Sony a6000.

I can't say enough about my Sony A6000. I love it and would recommend it to anybody. I bought this lens because I like to shoot more on the wide angle side, but needed something faster than the kit lens. I wanted wide angle without having to spend almost $800 for the wider angle zoom lens. I bought this lens to go along with the Ultra Wide Converter (VCL-ECU2), which gives make the lens the equivalent of about 15mm. For me, this was perfect. It's a fixed, and while I would like a zoom lens, this pushes me to be more creative and move around to get the photo I want. I really have no complaints and think the quality and price is great.

My only real complaint with this lens is that I wish I could manually focus. But other than that it has a nice wide angle and produces quality images and videos.

I did a review of it on my channel, this is the best way you can get a wide angle lens for Sony E mount APSC camera. I paired it with my Sony A6500 and it was simply superb, tiny package with great offerings. The 4k on A6500 take it to next level.

I love this lens! Its build quality is fantastic, and it provides a great image. The 16mm field of view is very wide, and the f/2.8 Make it excellent in low light, and give an awesome range for depth of field. Sony lenses are my favorite lenses that I've used so far, and for the price, it doesn't get much better than this lens.

My girl needed an wide angle lens for scenery shots and this one did the trick. We like natural light and the F 2.8 was just fine. I even tried shooting the milky way and the shots came out great, though not good enough to publish, but I was pleased with the results.

This really makes the camera sing. I really dig its compact form. I prefer for my day to day photos to use this lens. I am a casual photographer and this lens pairs quite well with the NEX F3. Most of the photos that I take are of events with family and friends. Having a compact, light and simple lens is perfect. I said I got a steal. Well, the day that I purchased the NEX F3, the pancake lens was an open box item. I purchased the lens for about $50 less than retail, I almost missed it sitting on the shelf., I would have purchased it the lens, regardless it just would have been a different day.

My wife keeps this lens attached to her a5100 when we go out. It fits nicely into her purse and is great for taking photos in low light at tight angles. Might be the perfect selfie lens too!
