This TV has the best factory sound than any other new TV on the market. The picture is fantastic. The remote however is horrible. If your hands are the size of an 8 year old child, you may like this remote. The tiny remote is about half the width of a dollar bill. It has no CC button. The tiny buttons are closely spaced and are all symmetrically spaced plus all are placed on the front rather than the side. It's difficult to tell which button you're pressing in the dark. In addition, the remote is slippery on both sides. I've had it slide off my leather couch numerous times when placed on both sides and that's very annoying. I've looked at the larger Sony TV's in hope they were using a different remote that would be compatible but they all seem to use the same sorry remote. Another issue I've had with the TV itself is the over the air tuner. I live in a rural area and occasionally have to use my antenna. I've had the TV completely freeze in antenna mode to the point where I had to unplug it in order to get it to work again. This seems to be a common problem. I chose this TV over the LG because of the sound which was important but the remote has me rethinking my choice as I have a sound bar to use for movies anyway. Any TV is only as good as its remote because that's how you interact with it. Yes you can use "Hey Google" but that only works about half the time as well and the commands are limited. To sum it up: beautiful picture, excellent built in sound, horrible remote. If the remote is important to you, you may want to look at the LG.

Awesome TV. Easy to set up. My first 4k TV. Since I got me a PS5, it seemed right to purchase a Sony TV. The picture is breathtaking and gaming is great. I got the advice from a Best Buy Rep and I don't regret it. The media apps are a plus. Love having them on my remote, especially Crunchyroll.

The picture quality is amazing and the sound is honeslty better than I expected for a tv. I have now included a Sonos soundbar and subwoofer to further enhance the sound but you can experience clear and full sound for most users without a soundbar. I will admit this tv is not meant for very bright rooms as the OLED panel isnt the brightest, but regardless it gets the job done. I have even had some great experiences gaming with this tv as well since it has a 120hz refresh rate and minimal input lag. I would recommend this to anyone who can find it on a sale like I did and wants a quality tv.

This is the OLED television that you want! Especially if you like watching movies or gaming. Shows the best picture in a dark room setting. I connected mine to a JBL sound bar system, but the tv has high quality audio without the sound bar. The visuals for nature documentaries is out of this world clear. There are a plethora of settings to customize your tv. You won’t be disappointed!

Just bought our 3rd Sony TV over the past several years, even after doing a ton of comparative shopping, checking consumer websites and reviews, and watching TV on other name brands at friends and relatives homes. This one is their state-of-the-art OLED, and it is just beautiful! We always shop at Best Buy, not only for price and policies, but also for the always excellent Geek Squad for outstanding mounting, set up and installation. The end result is fantastic. We originally bought a 55” for our new townhouse, but quickly decided the room could easily handle 65”. So we were able to quickly upgrade with no hassle whatsoever. We also had an electrical socket, cable outlet (which we don’t use), and fire alarm speaker higher on the wall that we wanted to hide, and the Geek Squad guys recommended a better mounting bracket (also less expensive!) that did the trick perfectly, including adding our Sonos soundbar attached under the TV, while still keeping the viewing angle at an optimum, not too high, height. We also added a Sonos sub woofer (on the floor) that we had from our previous TV. The end result of gorgeous colors, perfect lighting, and a full rich sound is amazing!

Loving everything about this TV. Paired with my ps5, it’s an excellent pair for gaming. Movies also look great through the apps on the tv. Only things keeping it from a 5 star is lack of 2.1 ports on all HDMI, and settings that automatically change when using the ps5, cannot manually overrride picture settings for movies etc while using a gaming console. Chose this over the LG C3 for Sonys superior imaging process and motion handling. Would do the same again.

At the time of Purchase I had spent months debating on which brand I wanted to purchase an Oled TV from. Considering Samsung, Sony and LG. They all seemed to offer similar specs with LG even making the Oled panels which Sony uses. The deciding factor for me was the ability to connent a Bravia tv to my Sony soundbar and surround system and use the TVs speakers as a center channel. Which in theory is a great concept. It worked amazingly for the forst year and half the benefit of having speakers fire from bwhind the screeen evens out the sound field. Within the last 6 months however I noticed that my TV was eminating snow noise quietly at first but it gradually grew worse with time. I thought there was an issue woth the TVs speakers as disabling the S-port eliminated the noise. Some research revealed that this is a hardware issue with the TVs processor and there is currently no fix. Sony does not have a recall on this nor do they offer a replacement board gor purchase that resolves this issue. If you plan on using the S-port feature be warned this will happen to you as well and theres no way to prevent it. The next two issues are what sparked me to write this review. First over the past couple of months my TV will refuse to turn on, I have to unplug the TV and hold the power button to reboot it. Its not a huge isssue but annoying and Im unable to figure out why this is happening. This morning my TV once again did this except this time after restarting the TV it did a factory reset all on its own. I had to relog into everything on the TV and it reverted all my settings. Which those of you who are familiar with googles tv OS know how much of a nightmare it is to navigate through the seemingly endless menus. Last issue TV now has major Latency issues that did not exist prior to the Factory reset. When trying to game on my Xbox one there is a huge delay between my inputs and on screen movement. It’s virtually unplayable in its current state. Streaming videos doesnt seem to have been affected. It’s really unfortunate as the TVs picture quality is exceptionally but it’s frankly disappointing to see Sony refusing to address major design flaws in there current Bravia TVs. This goes for the newer Bravia TVs released earlier this year, the issues laid out here aren’t confined to this generation of TV.

HI TheSilverShroud,
We are deeply sorry for the frustrating hardware and software issues you’ve encountered with your A80L. To address the "snow noise," please ensure your S-Center cable is kept away from power cords to prevent interference, and for the sudden input lag, ensure your Picture Mode is set to "Game" and "A/V Sync" is set to "Off" or "Auto" in the audio settings to restore low-latency performance. Regarding the power and factory reset issues, we would like to escalate your case to our specialized team for a permanent solution; please contact us at 1-239-245-6356 with your model and serial number so we can assist you further. Thanks for choosing Sony.
Best regards, Eliab

I researched TVs for almost 6 months and landed on the XR 80L after looking at ratings from around the internet. The Sony consistently rated highly and the A80 seemed to meet my needs without being crazy expensive. I then waited months for it to go on sale and grabbed it just as soon as it did. I am so glad. It has a wonderful picture. You know how you go in the showroom and the picture is crazy good but you can't replicate at home. This TV was so good, it almost matched those in store demos. The sound is good, not amazing but good. The software interface is so simple and helpful. I had LGs before this and will never go back. Needless to say, I love it and recommend.

The TV lives up to its OLED reputation of being super sharp and vivid, just a tad bit expensive and has occasional software issues. The Netflix/Amazon Prime video apps crashed a few times mid show, and I have to re-enter the app. I have problems with the Bravia sign in so I can’t watch the movies I redeemed on Bravia Core right now. The voice command on the remote stopped working, so I have to manually enter the YouTube searches on the keyboard on screen, but it’s not a big problem. Even though there are some issues with the software, so far the TV has been going strong and I do notice the visual difference after upgrading from an LED 4K TV.

Love the Sony 55" Smart Google TV. Purchased it about a month ago. My husband said it was easy to install on the wall mount. Great picture and sound quality. Was hoping to get away with not buying a sound bar and this did the trick. We can always add speakers if/when we want to but not necessary. We watched a movie in the living room and it was like we were in the movie theater. It was my first new TV purchase and was nervous how I would program it but it was pretty simple. I will recommend it to friends and family.
