I've owned two Sony televisions for over the last 20 years...their first plasma Bravoa in around 2003, and now this gorgeous modern Bravia with all the bells and whistles. That Bravia was great and this Bravia is even more awesome. The picture is superior in every way. I've got it connected to my McIntosh home theater amp and speakers, so my sound is superior. The images are crystal clear from edge to edge. Color reproduction is outstanding, as is brightness and black levels. I've watched this TV while the sun is shining directly on the screen and have absolutely no issues with seeing the content that is displayed by this device. The Google TV operating system is sophisticated and exposes many advanced TV configuration options to adjust your set to just how you want it. I also have the Sony camera installed to take advantage of some of the advanced features regarding recognizing hand signals and optimizing the set for where you are sitting in the room. I'm very happy that I chose mini-LED over OLED because of the brightness of this set, and because I don't need to worry about potential burn in. The stance of the TV compliments my console furniture, as the frame is virtually non-existent. I'm thoroughly pleased with this Bravia.

The Bravia 9 is an amazing value for the quality that you get. It is very bright , Colors POP, and blacks are black! HDR and Dolby Vision looks beautiful on this panel ! So close to OLED yet a lot brighter and vibrant. If you are looking for an affordable TV with one of the best quality out there on the market, get this !! The only cons with MINI LEDs as opposed to OLEDS is that you do get a bit of halo on some bright objects with a black background, especially at an angle . However, it is not very noticeable and a lot better than other mini leds out there . Overall amazing product and remarkable value!

Bought my first Sony in 1972. A 17” Trinitron and have been buying their tvs and audio equipment since. The Bravia 9 has a fantastic picture and the sound is excellent. The remote is simple to use and I like that it’s backlit. The 55” Sony Bravia I bought from Best Buy in 2015 I moved to a spare bedroom.

Watching anything on this set is great. Blown away when you use an over-the-air antenna to watch sports. Way better than the compressed video you get otherwise! Bright, clear and defined.

A lot of great options in tv’s right now. I have always liked what Sony brings to the table and they did it again with the Bravia 9. Awesome picture, we matched it up with a Sonos Arc Ultra and we couldn’t be happier. The Best Buy sales person we dealt with knew the products well and did a great job explaining the difference between the brands and models. Would have considered the 75 inch but it would have been 1200 more and for us just a bit too much. Very happy with our 65 inch.

Picture quality is excellent, like it more than my last tv which was a 6 year old top of the line LG oled. Bought it for reflection issues in my room and it's not great. The audio is the best tv audio I've ever experienced by a with margin.

I purchased this TV in August of 2024 and it is my 3rd Sony Bravia. Picture is amazing, features are great but I just started having dark spots on my screen which is very noticable and distracting. I contacted BestBuy who referred me to Sony due to it being under warranty. Sony’s feedback is this due to debris that have settled on the inside of the screen and they will not cover it because its not a manufacturing defect. Mind you I have multiple TV’s in the same environment not showing any issues. Pretty unfortunate becuase $3,000 is a lot to spend on a TV to have this issue so soon. I’ve lost faith in Sony after this experience and would caution others who are looking to purchase this TV to look elsewhere.

Television had power board issues 11 months after purchase, rendering the TV inoperable. Contacted Sony and it required a repair visit. Sony assigned (somewhat) local contractor to repair; after no-showing twice, TV was repaired several weeks later. TV failed AGAIN less than four months from warranty repair and has no power. This time Sony stated the TV is out of warranty, said they could not provide a repair, and suggested I purchase an extended warranty and directed me to a website. Went to Sony website as directed to find SONY DOES NOT EVEN OFFER EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THIS TV. Looked on Sony website for authorized reapir shop to pay out of pocket and SONY HAS NO AUTHORIZED REPAIR PARTNERS IN NJ. I now have a ~$3200 TV that was bricked 1 year and 3 months after I bought it.

I've spent some time with the Sony Bravia 9 and honestly it feels like a true upgrade for most Tv's I've owned in the past. The first thing that stood out to me was the brightness. This Tv gets incredibly bright, to the point where it looks amazing even in a sun filled room during the day. The black levels are very deep and for gaming it handles fast motion well and supports 4k and 120Hz. I would definitely recommend this television for anyone looking to upgrade.

I had a 3 year old Sony xr AJ90 Oled that started having vertical banding. That tv was in an entertainment room and only used on weekends. This made me re-evaulate purchasing another OLED. So i waited for this tom come out. The picture gorgeous and the black levels appear to be almost as good as OLED. I watch a few movies with subtitles and could not detect any blooming but i watch tv in bery well lit rooms as i do t like to trun down the lights. Picture is incredibly bright. I am not removing a star for this next issue as this is just a sony thing but when using a PS5 it locks the tv into game mode which really darkens the picture as it reduces many of the processing features from the picture to reduce input lag. Other manufacturers seem to have work arounds to help this but i stick with sony because no other manufacturer has a better picture quality in ky opinion. Also like many others it only has 2 hdmi 2.1 inputs.

[Employee of bestbuy] As filmmakers work with increasingly higher dynamic range, displaying such content accurately has grown problematic. OLED produces incredible blacks on the low end but struggles to reproduce & sustain correct brightness – especially across large surface areas. LED panels can sustain high brightness, but historically struggled in the blacks. Taking this challenge head on, Sony developed an entirely new type of Mini LED backlighting tech which incorporates thousands of discrete 22-bit drivers to not only control each dimming zone, but also to individually turn each LED on & off & adjust for luminance. The result is not only wider dynamic range with deeper blacks & brighter brights, but also greater detail in the shadows & highlights — all displayed with rich color which is second to none. The first implementation of this tech was on Sony’s BVM-HX3110 TRIMASTER HX 4K Professional Master Monitor – a $25K display used by Hollywood studios for color grading & mastering films. With Bravia 9, Sony attempted to match their master monitor as closely as possible, so viewers can see it exactly as the director did. Living with Bravia 9 for a week, I’d say they succeeded. Out of the box, a quick switch of the Picture Profile to “Professional” shifted the color close to perfect. A quick demo watching Dune Part 2 really allowed Bravia 9 to show its prowess. On even the very best OLED panels (including Sony’s own previous flagship), the panels fail to correctly render the bright, almost white desert skies on Arakis leaving them greyish by comparison to the more faithful rendering on the Bravia 9. Something to point out is people talk a lot about brightness, but more brightness is useless if not properly controlled, and Sony's proprietary back light tech helps Bravia 9 control with finesse allowing for correct brightness both across the entire frame & in specular highlights with virtually no blooming. Black levels are equally rich & impressive. Because of such wide contrast, Brava 9 looks as good watching with the blinds open on a sunny afternoon as it does for late night viewing with the lights down. Although I’m pairing Bravia 9 with a discrete 5.1.4 Dolby Atmos surround setup, the TV audio itself is quite good (even boasts a bit of mid bass) & would make a formidable center channel for Sony’s own Bravia Theater Quad wireless surround system. I highly recommend Bravia 9 to discerning movie fans & videophiles, but equally to sports fans. Bravia 9 is a TV that can do it all & raises the bar for all others.

With each new Tv , you move up in picture quality. Coming from an older Samsung where the back lighting was bleeding through along the bottom of the screen. This Sony has fantastic black levels . I can set aside my Nvidia Shield device , the Sony has all the apps and the picture quality is just fantastic . The speed of the "computer" inside the Sony makes switching apps pretty snappy . I think at the time I am writing this Sony has introduced the new color back lighting . I suspect that is really fantastic, but if they are selling this tv at a discount due to new tech I really dont think you will suffer from buyers remorse if you chose this particular Tv.

While every youtube reviewer will say it's hard to beat an OLED, they all say this is a very close second, almost even. Plus it doesn't suffer from "burn in" on your screen like OLEDs, (NEVER buy an OLED without the 5 year warranty). Out of the box the very first thing to do is turn off the Power Save setting. I thought at first mine was defective because the picture was so dark, THEN I turned the setting off and almost needed sunglasses. No matter how much light is in the room, this TV shines through. But as for the power saving, I didn't pay $3K for a dark/dim TV. While you can use WiFi or ethernet to connect, I found later on that the TV was drawing power when it's supposed to be OFF. I traced it down to the Internet connection. With Internet, it was drawing 38 Watts. I unplugged the Internet and power went down to 0 Watts. Not sure what's going on there, but the TV seems to be "phoning home" during the night. I stream with a FireTV Stick so my set doesn't need Internet, but if you use Google TV which is built in, THEN you'll need to connect it. Google has a dozen settings collecting info on you; content, how long you watch each program, when the TV is on or off, etc. Apps are also doing the same thing. This is why I think the TV is uploading all this info on you during the night. They sell this info and soon you'll get more junk mail, more junk email, telemarketer phone calls, etc. Most of Sony's settings are pretty close to perfect. There's a YouTube calibration video to make it even better, mostly by turning off some things. Don't be afraid to make changes as you can reset each section anytime and start over. I only needed to change the color a bit to make red less pink. Once you do some basic calibration, STANDARD looks fantastic for everything, TV shows and movies. CINEMA is a bit too dark for shows with a lot of indoor or night scenes. If you want Sparkle to show off your TV to friends, used VIVID on the show "Las Vegas." While the TV sound is much better than your average TV, most with a set like this will have their own Home Theater sound system. My FireTV Stick is plugged into my AVR amp, which extracts the digital sound info and sends the picture to the TV, so setup was easy for me. As far as lip-sync goes, there are adjustments in the Bravia that can do the job, but in my case my AVR can also do it. Usually the video lags behind the sound, because the picture undergoes a lot of internal processing, so obviously they have circuitry that will delay the sound so they match up.

I had a old 55 inch plasma. Over 15 years old. Could not watch it in my roon in the day. Bravia 9 is awesome. Very brite in the day and great at night. Way better then my other 2 older Sony 4k tvs. Best picture i have seen. I suggest if useing a roku put settings to 1080p. Tv broadcasts in 1080p.

As a loyal Sony customer, I always have high expectations for both hardware and interface performance — especially with the Bravia line. This is not my first Bravia 9, so I know what the standard should be. The TV hardware, while sleek, feels surprisingly flimsy given its weight since most of the chassis is plastic. On a positive note, the metal remote is excellent — rechargeable, backlit, and premium-feeling. The Google TV interface is another strong point: it’s clean, customizable, and easy to navigate. The display does not disappoint; ultra smooth motion and natural hues are what drives me to Sony However, my main concern lies with the audio interface. The handling of ARC vs. eARC is inconsistent — when eARC is enabled, the external audio device is often not detected, requiring me to manually switch from “TV” to “External” nearly every time I power on. Overall Rating: 4/5 Sony, please address this through a firmware update. Until then, I can’t fully recommend this TV to users who rely on external audio systems for a superior sound experience.

This TV is amazing! I upgraded my LG CX to this and am very happy. The picture quality looks better, reflections are handled MUCH better, and the brightness burns HDR glory into my eyes. There is some slight blooming at times, but i always have to check if it is the TV or my eyes

Wow. Just wow. For still being an LED, the contrast on this tv is stunning. Pretty close to OLED level without the fear of burn-in. The colors are great, the motion is great, and the brightness is too. Highly recommend if you’ve got the money!
