I've rented various Sony lenses to shoot family and our pets, and purchased a few GM Lenses. I have to say that of all, I have only had the wow factor with this lens. The colors, the blur, the sharpness, the buttery beautifulness. Yes it's expensive, but if we're advised to live in the moment, this is the best way to capture those and keep them forever. In terms of Auto Focus for action shots like our running dogs, Im not sure it's the best. Either that, or my a7R4 or a73 needs to be replaced by the a9. Who knows. But if you are capturing objects that require no kore than 1/1000s, you are Golden. My favorite lens by far. You will not regret buying it. If you do, contact me I'll buy it from you so I can have 2 :)

The best portrait head shot lens?!?!

I have used this lens many times in the past, and while I certainly didn't want another lens, in the bag, I had to purchase this. You wouldn't think it is superior to a 85mm, but it really is. If you are looking to compress a background or really showcase your subject, I don't think there is a better prime lens to do that task, than this beast.

The best and sharpest Sony portrait lens

If you own the Sony A7RV or A7RIV, this lens is a must have for professional portrait photographers. The autofocus is mind blowing and gives me confidence that i will nail the shot everytime! When i eventually venture into sports photography with the A1 or A9III, this badboy is not leaving my camera body! The GM’s are definitely an investment that will last many years to come!

A really good portrait lense.

This lense is really excellent for portraits! At first i wasn’t i didn’t like using it as i just liked taking my camera out and shooting different things and the view was a little too narrow. I just needed to realize it was a portrait lens, and when i started to use it for portrait shooting it just became one of my favorite lenses.

Best in photo and video.

This was the first lens I bought with my a7rIV and thought it was fantastic from the start. Even after using multiple other G master lenses and now the new a7siii with video, this lens still reigns supreme in quality. It can also be used as macro to an extent. The focusing capabilities are so good that it can track up to just three feet away from the lens. I know zoom lenses are popular and give you multiple focal lengths, but the speed and sharpness of the this lens is unparalleled. Just about any shot taken with this lens gives you detail and an artistic look. I cannot utter enough praise for this magnificent glass.

An incredible lens! Super fast autofocusing and sharp images. Paired with my A73, it's nearly impossible to get Abad shot. The bokeh? Super creamy! Simply put, you will not regret buying this lens. Yes, it's not cheap but worth saving up for. I own a few GM lenses (24-70gm, 70-200gm, and 85gm) and this is my new favorite portrait lens. I don't see this coming off my camera body anytime soon.
