After the death of the actor who played the original Spartacus in the first season this show became rather questionable to my liking. Lucretia and the Romans provided a solid ground for solid plot and stellar acting, but when it came to several of the the slaves and the Gladiators later on, not so much in my opinion. Season two takes place before Spartacus, and the actress who plays Navia leaves the series and is replaced by another actress. This leaves us with two new actors taking the place of 1) the main character and 2) another compelling character. (I understand the original actor has passed away, but the man who takes his places is not as good of an actor in my opinion.) By this point I was discouraged. I will not give away what happens during the third season, but it was enough to make me not want to watch the last and final season. However, after a year of avoiding this season, and having been a huge fan of this series - regardless of poor acting by the slaves as well as the plot twist in the finale to season three - I finally purchased purchased Spartacus: War of the Damned, and am I ever happy I did! What seemed like a dull lull into oblivion and the removal of interesting actors throughout, in the final season enter new and exciting Roman figures, and their clash with the renegade slaves is amazing to behold. The sets and costumes continue to be gorgeous. The dialogue, though not Shakespearean, is still highly ornate and captures the curt and demanding manner of Rome at the time. The woman continue to be beautiful, the men are gorgeous... Lush visuals and gore abound. Please continue to watch. You will not be disappointed. I know I was not. :)

Great acting, lots of violence, blood, and action. Leaves you wanting for more. Sound and picture excellent. Great price at best buy. Characters are well developed. Plot keeps you guessing and suspenseful. If you like movies about gladiators then you will love this tv show. Collect all the seasons! you won't be disappointed. I wish there were more. Best to get it in Blu-ray for best quality and picture. I do miss Lucy Lawless. Great gift Idea for any of your friends and family or just to treat yourself. Not for the weak!

My friends were ranting and raving when this first came out on Starz. I thought it was going to be a poor copy 300. Boy was I wrong!!! This is the contination from the 1st season (Gods of the Arena came out before this but the story was a prequel to the 1st season), and it doesn't let up. Get the series and enjoy it... it's a great bargin for the hours of entertanment it provides.

This is one series that you will watch over and over again because you just can't get enough. Starz best series so far was well worth my time and is as good as anything else on television. Too bad Camelot was cancelled after only one season because it had so much potential - especially since it had Eva Green & Joseph Fiennes in it, but it was followed by Spartacus, so Starz: your forgiven.

I love historically based movies. This one tops my list as one of the best movies/series I have ever seen. It kept you riveted to the seat to see what happened next eventhough most of us know how this story ended. The whole Spartacus saga is a must own all four seasons are great even with the character changes mid stream its one of those things that life would just not have any meaning without.

My husband purchased this and we've watched it in it's entirety already. Brace yourselves, people, it is bloody. But it's bare-able. The story line is great and if you've already seen it but just want the discs in your collection you won't be disappointed. Lots of great behind-the-scenes meetings with the actors and watching how the show unfolded from its beginning.

This show has a stylized, graphic novel-inspired design similar to the movie "300". Fans of "300" will love this too. It gives an uncompromising, hard-edged look at the world of ancient Roman gladiators, without any worry about political correctness or modern sensibilities. Gladiator also is filled with action and compelling characters and is very entertaining.

This is an entertaining series, and it's sad to see it end, but what a finish! Now, the revolting slaves have to go against the richest and most powerful man in Rome! The previous seasons set records for violence and nudity, and it seems they wanted what few stops were left pulled for this one! Still a guilty pleasure, but also still tells a good story.

For all the Spartacus fans out there, please don't miss this final series of Spartacus "war of the damned". Action and blood spill at every corner accompanied by erotic vivid scenes of the ancient roman times and of course the feeling of revenge and freedom. For all the fans out there....don't miss this season finale!

I loved the Spartacus series and had to add this last season to complete the collection. The series was incredible! It was a great remake of a wonderful story. I like the way this last season embellished the story of Spartacus and gave the series such an epic conclusion. Definitely NOT for kids, adults only please! (^_^)

Thought this was an awesome end to the series. Thought the prior season got a little low, but this season made up for it. Lots of action packed into every episode. Even though you know how its going to end, it still makes you wonder as you watch through the episodes.

The final season of Spartacus does not hold back! Liam (the actor who replaced Andy as Spartacus for the final two seasons) comes into his own this season. If you stuck with the show through season 3, then you will not be disappointed by the end of season four.

This season of Spartacus is my least favorite of the 4 years. Since a large number of our favorite characters have already met there Gods. A new batch of characters enter this season. But there is no true leading female roll in the upper class. This year is all about the battles to take down the Spartacus rebellion. There are some plot twists, but nothing like previous years. I really missed the life in the ludus.

War of the Damned is the final season of the Spartacus series from Starz. It brings full resolution to an unbelievably action packed and gut wrenching storyline. I recommend this highly for adults but is definitely not for the squeamish.

This show is awesome. It's what Rome could have been had they had better technology to design it. We're lucky to live in a time when practically anything can be made for tv and made to be realistic, and they did a great job with this one.

I love everything that has to do with Ancient Rome and even though only parts of the Spartacus story is historically correct, the story is an enjoyable experience. I recommend it for gladiator buffs and ancient history lovers.

The Spartacus series is VERY entertaining. You will fly through the episodes. This season was wonderful. Great story lines and acting. The way the show is shot is unique and artistic. Sort of reminds me of the movie 300.

This show is a must for those who love this time period and don’t mind a bit of over the top violence and nudity. The characters are likeably and the action sequences amazing.

This was an awesome final season of Spartacus. If you haven't watched the previous seasons, buy them all and watch them cause you will definitely love this series especially if you liked HBO's Rome.
