Spiderwick Chronicles - DVD

Eight-year-old Peter (Woody Norman) was already having a rough go of it between persistent bullying at school and the odd behavior of his overprotective yet cold parents (Lizzy Caplan, Antony Starr). Then came the persistent nighttime knocking on the walls of his bedroom-which ultimately became a girl's voice warning him of terrible danger from a sinister force. Bone-chilling opus also stars Cleopatra Coleman, Luke Busey, Aleksandra Dragova. 88 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.

Piloting his family over Appalachia for his father's funeral, self-made lawyer Marquis T. Woods (Omari Hardwick) couldn't keep his plane from going down... and he woke up alone in the attic of the kindly-seeming Ms. Eloise (Loretta Devine). As she ministers to him, it becomes increasingly evident that he's not free to leave-and that she, and her dark magic practicing community, have an unholy agenda. Frightening effort also stars Lorraine Burroughs, John Beasley, Hannah Gonera, Kalifa Burton. 91 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.

While flying to his father's funeral in rural Appalachia, an intense storm causes Marquis (Omari Hardwick) to lose control of the plane carrying him and his family. He awakens wounded, alone and trapped in Ms. Eloise's (Loretta Devine) attic, who claims she can nurse him back to health with the Boogity, a Hoodoo figure she has made from his blood and skin. Unable to call for help, Marquis desperately tries to outwit and break free from her dark magic and save his family from a sinister ritual before the rise of the blood moon.
