I bought this to replace the aging 18-270 that was 4 years old. I wanted more length and also a wider base for my walk around. I have this mounted on my 70D and it feels great. I knew this was a good lens, but what surprises me is how silent the AF is when it is working, and how good the colors are. This rivals my Canon 24-105 'L' for being quiet. The photo's are very good, I do not pixel peep, so I do not worry about that side of the equation. I use Lightroom to enhance where necessary, but I have found that I have little to do, as the colors seem very good to me. This is mainly my travel lens and will go to Italy with me next month. Also, the price was right, and it was delivered right to my door at the day I was told. It has a lock feature and the barrel is nice and solid, so there is not movement when pointing this down towards the ground. I also feel that it is much better build quality than the 18-270 Tamron sells.

Our Cannon camera never had an extension lense... We've needed one for a long time for kids' activities... This Tamron lense could not have been any better ! My Wife uses her camera all the time now that she can zoom in so much more.

My first major purchase since I bought my camera with kit lens. Great lens. Use for portrait and wedding photos.

I purchased this lens specifically for a trip to Hawaii. I needed a lens for a variety of shots, from macro to landscapes and portraits. I love the zoom range; last year I was always changing lenses and had to carry them all with me. This year I only took this lens. Photo quality is Good but not professional quality. There are some color issues, but 95% of people wouldn't even notice. The lens is also very quiet compared to my other lenses, and the autofocus is relatively quick (not the fastest or slowest lens I have) For the price I would definitely buy again. It will be my lens for backpacking trip where I don't expect perfectquality and wouldn't take my expensive lenses.

The 16-300mm tamron lens is awesome. It allows me the flexibility during travel to only carry one lens. My pics are clear and sharp and I am enjoying this lens a lot. Only negative is the lens is a little bit heavy and took some time getting used to it.

Excellent all in one lens, good macro and reach at 300 mm. My only complaint is that at 16 mm, the len experiences severe chromatic aberration. (I could fix this in manual but not in any of the other modes. Does get a bit of distortion at 16 mm.

I love this lens. It gets you everything you need. It really is an all in one. I was looking for a lens where I could only bring one with on vacation and this one did the job. Excellent lens for an all in one.

One lens to carry around! Wide angle, close up, zoom in on distant objects - all look great. I prefer the optional manual focus over the auto focus, but, that works well too.

Absolute biggest bang for your buck all-in-one. The reviews out there are spot on. Lens offers exceptional variability and takes incredible pics.

If you are looking for one lens that can cover 90% of your shooting, this is it. Great close in macro shooting and the reach for tight shots on distant subjects. Not the fastest lens in terms of sports photos but good enough on my Canon 80D for swimming diving, basketball, and volleyball.

I have had this for about a month, and I have used it almost every other day. I love the build quality, and the feel on my 70D. It is wide, and the colors are very good. The 300mm is long, and it seems to give me quality shots, even hand held. I have not really tried the macro side, but I am sure, I would not be disappointed. I am taking it to Italy next month and will see if I can add some photo's when I return.

I bought this lens to replace two others and have not been disappointed! this lens produces better quality--sharper edges, clear pictures, excellent resolution at all focal lengths. It has enabled me to get pictures I would not have gotten previously while trying to switch lenses. This lens is a high-quality time saver for all my photography needs!

Some lenses are very pricey, and this one offers the zoom from wide to 300mm. That is hard to find. I do find sometimes there is a lack of sharpness when extended out to the full 300 when not in excellent light, so usually i stop around 275mm. Otherwise, the lens is great and the 16-300 is unbeatable at this price.

I bought this lense to use at baseball games. I like it because you can zoom to 300 but also get the group shot from close distance not to have all of the cell phone users in front of you.

The lens does an outstanding job of capturing details and colors. All edges of pictures are clear and crisp at all focal lengths. The lens is fast, responsive, and excellent for a wide range of shooting options. Color produced by the lens is saturated and rich. This will replace to lens and so make picture-taking easier, faster, and more enjoyable. Good buy!

It was not clear, unless you know the language of DSLRs and Full Frame cameras, that this would not work on a 6D Mark II. The 6D Mark II is a DSLR that accepts EF lenses, which this lens is, however, the 6D is not have an APS-C sensor, for which this lens is designed. Compatible models being added to the description would be helpful.

This lens exceeds all my expectations. It is an excellent all around lens whether you are shooting stills, close-ups or video. It is light and manageable, quick to focus, and the image stabilization is terrific.

Used this for the first time on vacation. No changing lens to get close up or distant pictures.
