If all you care about in a TV is visual and audio quality, this is a 5/5 TV. The biggest drawback is the Google AI assistant which can be activated with “Hey Google” or by toggling the voice input option on the remote. If you say something like Hey Google, turn on the tv”, that works great and it knows what you want. If you say something like, “Can I watch Psych on Peacock”, instead of opening Psych in Peacock, it will pull up an informational screen about Psych and share that it found information about it being available in Peacock. Directly saying, “open Psych in Peacock” works some of the time, but I find myself still having to get the remote to navigate, which to me misses the entire point of having a smart voice assistant built into the tv. I do like being able to say, “Hey Google, Turn off the tv”, when I’m done for the night, or if my wife fell asleep with the controller on her side of the bed. I also appreciate that the tv supports Airplay. The biggest wow for the tv, is actually the audio. It has 2 reverberating speakers in the back of the tv that pretty effectively replace the need for a single soundbar. Granted, I’d still probably prefe a full surround sound setup if this was in my living room or gaming room, but as a bedroom tv, eliminating the need for a separate soundbar has been awesome. Picture quality is rock solid, however I did have to fine tune some settings when I first set it up. It would have been nice if picture quality was part of the initial setup, because my wife’s reaction was, “doesn’t this look washed out?” And she was right. Changing to the cinema setting fixed the color balance issues but it was a pretty disappointing experience from the start, and frankly a huge miss considering this might be setup in someone’s home that doesn’t use technology enough to go into menu settings to refine the video. I’m not sure if it’s even fair to take a full star off for the Voice Assistant but it turned an exciting initial experience into a disappointment. It deserves at least a half star off. Overall though, the tv is great, and comes with some pretty cool apps available for install, including a free Google live tv app, which mostly plays channels with older shows and sometimes replaces commercials with a pretty scenic video while you wait for the commercial timer to expire. Overall I’m very happy with this tv and would recommend.

TCL QM7L is a great TV for most people. Pros: - Great picture with colors that pop and the picture can get bright - The B&O sound is a step up from standard TV sound - Google TV interface is snappy and provides everything you need - Included remote is backlit Cons: - Colors degrade sharply off angle TV Setup: Unfortunately, this was one area that wasn’t smooth for me. Scanning the QR code to perform TV setup did not work with my iOS phone. I just got a message that the app clip was unavailable and was forced to go through manual setup. While it wasn’t the end of the world, it was a little disappointing. Picture: I was very impressed with the picture. From the moment you get to the home screen you will notice how bright the TV is and how much the colors pop. I do recommend changing the picture setting to Filmmaker mode. It resulted in a much better picture than the Standard mode. I have watched Standard definition and HDR videos and they all look great. The one issue is that you will notice a dulling of colors as you move off angle. I might not recommend the TV if you are unable to view it straight on. Sound: The sound on the TV is decent. If you plan on using the TV as your non-primary viewing source, you will probably be fine just using the built-in speakers. I played around with the Custom sound profile which opens the Beosonic app, which lets you customize how you like your sound profile. However, you will get an improved experience if you upgrade to a dedicated soundbar (or possibly add the compatible subwoofer). Remote: The included remote is nice (but not as nice as the one included with my QM8G). It is backlit, which is great for nighttime viewing. My real gripe is the placement of the mic and home button. Most remotes have the home button placed in the center of the remote, but on this one the mic button is in the middle and the home button is off to the side. Conclusion: Overall, the TV is a very nice TV that I would recommend for most people. This is my second TV from TCL and so far, I have been pretty happy with their TVs. For the price, this TV is a great value.

I upgraded from a 55” LED 4K UHD Smart Android TV that I thought was fantastic until the time it stopped working. I really thought it provided great visuals, sound, and connectivity, but once I set up the TCL 75” SQD-Mini LED TV, I realized how far the technology had advanced. For starters the Google TV integration is night and day different from the Android TV, from channel options to available apps. Plus, TCL, like most, has their own TCL TV option for access to over 350 free channels. Assembly and set up was easy! The included base pedestal is about 15.2” by 14.5” and is sturdy or you can attach it to a wall or floor mount using the vesa mounts. The remote control is back-lit which automatically activates when you pick it up, but you can also disable that feature. The remote is fully voice capable including integration with Google Gemini. You can set the voice capabilities to only function when the Voice button on the remote is pressed, or to respond to “Hey Google” or a preferred wakeup word. There are preset buttons for Netflix, prime video, YouTube, Apple TV. TCLtv and Disney+. There’s also a dedicated button for an antenna source! Where I live we have access to over 60 OTA channels, and this allows you to Live Pause the antenna TV feed for up to 30 minutes. You can also edit the channel labels and the input label names. The panel is 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) with an Imax Enhanced QLED and a 144Hz refresh rate with a peak brightness of 3000 Nits and countless dimming zones. There is 1 USB 3.0 and 1 USB 2.0 input along with 4 HDMI 2.1. One 2 are 4K@144Hz, 2 at 4K@60Hz with one of them being eARC. The response time for the upgraded Google TV and integrated Gemini Voice controls is great with no noticeable lag. The video is unequaled in my experience, and includes multiple options to fine tune it to your preference including Vivid, Low Power, Sports, Movie, Game, PC, Filmmaker Mode and an AI enhanced intelligent setting. These modes are coupled with 3 Dolby Vision Modes including IQ, Bright and Dark. The picture size can be adjusted and has 6 settings from 16:9 to Stretch Zoom. For those not acquainted with Bang & Olufsen sound products, they are top tier and that is evident in this unit. There are 5 presets for Movie, Music, Speech, Game, Night and Sport plus the ability to set/save your own preferences through the equalizer. There’s also a unique online toggle option to further refine your preferred frequency ratings. The television has Bluetooth 5.4, and I experienced zero latency when I paired various headphones or earbuds. After a week I realized I no longer needed my soundbar so I disconnected it. The television can be cast through Google Chromecast or screen share through Apple Play. In my opinion this television presents as close to a real life experience as any I’ve seen.

The TCL QM7L series TV is nice for so many reasons. First of all, the picture quality is stunning. It is super bright and vibrant. Also, the sound is good enough that you don’t need a soundbar. It has Bang & Olufson speakers that you can see on the back of the TV. They give a good depth of low and high sounds. Setting the TV up is also very straightforward. It walks you through most of the advanced functions and asks you which you’d like to enable. This version of Google TV is more advanced than the version I bought last year. It uses Gemini and you can control it with voice commands. Even when the TV is off you can say “Hey Google, play….” and it will turn the TV on and go to the show you requested, or at least show it on the screen for you to play. Also, other versions of Google TV limited the apps that could be installed but this version allowed me to get all of the streaming apps I wanted. Another thing worth mentioning is that the interface works quickly. I mention this because on some older TVs there is a lag between switching screens and apps. This TV is almost instant. Other cool functions are the ability to link to Smart Home app so you can use the remote from your phone if you misplace the remote. And even though it is a Google TV it lets you use Airplay from your iPhone. It also has a tuner that works well – I watched a FIFA game last night and it was such a bright deep green field. Overall, this TV has a great picture, sound, and all the apps and technologies that make it extra fun to watch.

It’s hard to believe that this is considered a mid-tier television. The picture quality is fantastic, once it’s configured correctly. It took a little time to review all of the available settings, but it was worth the effort. I can’t believe how bright it was before I adjusted the settings. The default picture colors looked oversaturated and I always felt like it was way brighter than it should be. I guess this is to be expected, as this is my first experience with mini-LED technology. Given the effort with configuration of the picture, I also appreciate that the TV saves individual settings per input. This might seem like it should be a given, but I’ve seen otherwise in other TVs, and I can’t emphasize what a pain it is to continually have to readjust settings when I want to jump from watching shows on the Roku input to playing games. I can’t speak to the TV speaker quality since I immediately connected it to a soundbar using the HDMI eARC port. It’s nice to be able to control the volume of the soundbar through the TV remote. The TV will automatically switch settings depending on the sound input type, but sometimes you can hear a pause when this happens. Of course, this only generally happens when watching live TV when the feed changes from ads to live broadcasts, like when watching sports. Admittedly, I can’t really speak to the Google features of the TV because I haven’t connected my account to it. I use the Roku to do much of the lifting for apps. However, I can say that the response is pretty quick. I’ve used other Google TVs and navigating apps and menus isn’t as quick as this one. Overally, I would highly recommend this TV if you are looking for great picture without the latest high-end bells and whistles.

The selling point of this set for TCL is the awesome screen it has. There is a ton of tech they have packed in this TV headlined by the new SQD-Mini LED technology. I have had an OLED monitor recently, and this set by TCL has an equally beautiful screen. The 75 inch screen needs to be seen to be believed. The tech in the screen uses deep color, super quantum dots, HVA 2.0 panel etc., that come together for a really complete amazing picture. If you can, check one out on display at a Best Buy. Another highlight I have to talk about are the speakers. I have never seen a TV that has visible speakers on the back like this one does. TCL went all out and included Bang & Olufsen speakers that sound crazy good. This set is also the first one where a soundbar is not the needed accessory. There are connections for soundbars of course, but it seems like a waste of decent speakers on the TV itself. Great problem to have! Most TV’s I’ve seen have the standard 20 watts for sound. Apparently this set has 4, 15 watt speakers for 60 watts total. Very nice! TCL seems to have catered to gamers, but only part of the way. They include all the goodies you would hope for in their game pack & game accelerator 288 software. FreeSync Premium Pro and super low latency. If you care about response times in your games, I highly recommend you activate this in settings. I found that it does make a noticeable difference in gaming. Beware however there is a drawback immediately: the color on screen takes a hit. For example, I personally always use the Vivid settings for color options. I have to sacrifice the beautiful colors for better response time. Another issue is with the TCL app software that you can download from the Android / Apple store to include it in with other TCL items you may have like other TVs or AC units. My problem was simply that it never worked for me. I didn’t need this to enjoy the experience in any way, so in the end, not a big deal for me. I just wish TCL would update their app for a better user experience. My last complaint I want to bring up is the connection option on the set. There are only 2 HDMI ports that support 2.1 and 2 are stuck on 2.0, with one also supporting ARC for soundbars. I have already felt this using a PC, PS5 & and a Switch 2. I ended up connecting the Switch 2 to the HDMI 2.0 port. Yet another reason why I love the speakers on this set! I would recommend this TV all the way! The screen technology is amazing only matched by its B&O sound. This set truly has the best of both worlds here where it really matters. Unfortunately there are some compromises here, that depending on how you plan to use this set, could make a big difference. The good: 75” screen, Google TV, Bang & Olufsen speakers, Game Accelerator (response time for gaming) Not good: TCH home app software, Game Accelerator, half of HDMI ports are 2.0

As I was in the market for a new and substantially larger TV, I did a little research since TVs are not something that you buy often I am very familiar with the big brands that start with a "S" or "L" and I knew a little about TCL but they has always been a more conservative budget brand When I saw this 75" and the feature set, I decided to give it a try Unboxing was simple. Protected and no damage visible Installing it was also pretty simple. You obviously still need 2 people, but the new TVs are substantially lighter that the ones in the past Set-up was simple and intuitive and connecting it to my network I was walked through making it a breeze Once on, the picture was spectacular. Not just good, but really high end good. The colors were rich and the detail and refresh was near perfect When it comes to the sound, this is where this model really shinned. I did not realize it, but on the box it states that the audio is by Bang & Olufsen. B&O is not a brand taken lightly - this is a top end audio manufacturer that is respected in many premium automobiles Besides that, of course the TV has native Google and other apps ready to be played Congratulations TCL on stepping up to the premium TV line-up and your initial line has exceeded my expectations

Received this TCL 75” QM7L just a week ago. Very nice! It sure is a big boy! I have multiple 4K TVs of various brands and sizes in our house and I got this one for mounting outside on the back deck. It’s glorious! I’m sure glad they sell waterproof covers on Amazon that can cover this thing. :) Setting it up, the built-in Google TV interface was very snappy and easy to set up (I have this interface on another TV so easy for me to navigate). After the system updates app downloads to test out, YouTube TV looked perfect and fluid on all channels. Amazon Prime, Netflix and Max as well. Really, out of the box I thought it was pretty well set for the outdoor lighting day or night. Very sharp and responsive! I love this for watching sports! The only difficulty I had with setup was connecting it to my outdoor speaker system (which is analog and had been wired for RCA ports or a headphone jack). Since this TV does not have those ports, I had to get an HDMI to RCA adapter and with that I was in business! Sound output now is excellent! Good value for this huge TV and I look forward to using it for years!

TCL - 75" Class QM7L Series 4K UHD HDR SQD-Mini LED Smart TV with Google TV (2026) SUMMARY: It’s about the screen. Magnificent. The sound is surprisingly good too. Tech talk is so much hype these days, hard to say if it’s the TCL Deep Color System, or the SQD-Mini LED, or Super Quantum Dots, but this picture delivers big time. The stunning blacks and rich colors compare well to my OLED screen. It’s great for watching movies and decent for gaming (with the 288 VRR game accelerator. And the speakers are Bang & Olufsen. Great value. PROs: - You buy it for the screen, bright enough (3000 nits) to outshine an OLED and use in a well light room. - 4k, great details, deep blacks and vibrant colors that pop. Ultimate visual appeal. - 144 hz screen refresh makes it decent for gaming or watching sports. - Two HDMI 2.1 ports, two HDMI 2.0 ports (4 HDMI total). - HDR support - 4, 15 watt Bang & Olufsen speakers, sound great. - Sets up easily. - Well-constructed and a decent stand. - All the expected smart tv bells and whistles, all the major streaming services, and voice control. CONs: - The IOS App was clumsy. Fortunately, I didn’t need it. A MATTER OF TASTE: - Google TV smart platform. As good as it gets, but eh, not all want a ‘smart’ tv. Especially from Google. - The speakers are so good on this TV it’s the first I didn’t feel the need to immediately hook up a sound bar too. MORE WORDS. I keep saying it. Seeing is believing. The visuals are stunning. Buy it for that, not for any other reason. Visuals compare well with screens costing twice as much. So why is it such good value? Well for one, you aren’t paying for a name brand. For another, I like it so much because I use it to watch TV and Movies and the occasional switch 2 games with my family. In other words, it’s not my only screen. I don’t have my computer hooked up to it or 4 different gaming systems so 4 HDMI ports is fine with me. There are faster (more expensive) screens out there, but I game on my gaming rig. The amazing sound is icing on the cake with this TV. Does make me wonder how even less expensive it could be with more standard speakers.

Replaces my 2016 65” LG UH8500 tv.. This 75” tv has a 33% larger display than 65”. I’ve been using a Samsung soundbar subwoofer bundle so idk how the TV’s Bang & Olufsen audio speakers sound yet. Hired two gentlemen to mount the TV on my wall mount. This is the TV I wanted 10 years ago.
