Great TV! I’m mesmerized by the size and quality of the picture. The TV to the right side of fhe 98” TCL is a 55” Samsung for comparison.

OMG, the TCL 98’’ TV is massive! Ever since I got it, every time I walk by the living room, I’m just struck by how big it is. Be prepared for a lot of cardboard to deal with, my trash can was completely full after unpacking! Inside the box, you’ll find the usual items, a TV remote, power cord, and manual. The TV was easy to set up, thanks to the built-in Google TV. All I had to do was sign in. I’ve been a fan of Google TV for a while it offers a lot of content, including live TV, and I’ve saved so much money by cutting out cable. Gemini is also included, which makes searching for content much easier. Plus, logging into popular apps like Netflix and Hulu is a breeze; you can just use the QR code and your phone. This TV is truly stunning; the screen clarity is amazing. I currently have it placed on the floor since I don’t have another spot for it at the moment. My 65’’ TV is still mounted on the wall, and when I see them together, the 65’’ looks teeny tiny in comparison. I prefer a TV that delivers high brightness levels, and if you’re looking for that, the Mini LED is perfect for you. With the World Cup right around the corner, the 144Hz panel will be fantastic for sporting events, and I can’t wait! The built-in speakers produce good sound, but just imagine what adding a soundbar could do you’d have a mini movie theater at home! Overall, I definitely think the price point of this TV is worth it, considering its size and image quality.

TL;DR - This is a fantastic 98" Smart TV at a affordable price with top tier features. Perfect timing for World Cup & MLB season game day watch parties and movie nights with the family. The Smart Google TV platform features allow for seamless connectivity with all my favorite streaming apps, and the Google Gemini support makes it easy to search for my favorite shows and movies. 4K UHD support on a display this large is amazing! The display is crisp, sharp and bright. I haven't found any dim or dead pixels and the backlighting is generally even from edge-to-edge, with some slight fading along the top and bottom of the display. The factory default settings defintely oversaturate the colors and overboosted the brightness, along with the automatic display adjustment. You definitely should take the time to adjust the brightness, color saturation and "Vivid" display settings. The motion smoothing and 144Hz response rate makes watching sports amazing. The processor and RAM was strong and sufficient enough to load apps quickly and made switching between apps smooth. The biggest issue I have with the QM7L is the built-in sound is lackluster at best. The unit features audio by "Bang & Olufsen", but the sound lacks depth, warmth and frequency response. An external soundbar or other theater system is a definitely must have. Fortunately, it supports eARC HDMI output and SPDIF digital outputs, which made connecting my soundbar easy. The TV automatically recognized the external audio connection as soon as I plugged in the soundbar and adjusted the sound output settings accordingly. A 98" TV almost has to be wall-mounted, however mounting it was challenging as the back of the TV is not smooth. I'm not sure if this is by design or a defect (it's hard to capture a picture), but there's a definite waviness in the rear panel, which made me nervous to ensure the mount was attached securely.

Unboxing & Delivery: The Adventure Starts Before You Even Turn It On Let me start by saying this: nothing prepares you for the moment a *98-inch* TV shows up at your doorstep. The delivery alone was an adventure. Coordinating with the logistics company took a few tries because someone absolutely has to be home for this monster. And when it finally arrived, the poor delivery driver was by himself - there was no way he was moving a 125-pound box solo. I had to call my son to help haul it from the truck into the house. This thing is *big*. Respect-the-weight big. Once inside, though, TCL’s packaging really impressed me. The TV is protected extremely well, and the built-in grab pads make handling it way less terrifying. The setup instructions are clear, and you can actually attach the feet without fully removing the TV from the box - a small but very appreciated design choice. TCL recommends three people for installation, but two strong humans can absolutely get it done. Space Planning: Measure Twice, Buy Once Before you even think about buying this TV, measure your space. Then measure it again. The legs are about 75 inches apart, so you’ll need a *huge* stand. I ended up using an 80-inch stand, which fit perfectly. Height matters too - with the TV sitting on a 30-inch stand, I had barely a foot of clearance before hitting the ceiling. Once the physical logistics were sorted, the rest was smooth sailing. Connecting to WiFi or Ethernet is quick, and the TV boots into Google TV in under 15 minutes. The setup process is simple and intuitive, even for people who don’t love tech. Picture Quality: The SQD-Mini LED Panel Is the Star of the Show This is where the TCL 98" QM7L really flexes. The SQD-Mini LED panel is stunning - bright, sharp, and beautifully contrasted. Blacks are deep enough to make you forget you’re not watching an OLED. Turn on the motion smoothing and the whole screen becomes a buttery-smooth visual treat. HDR content is where this TV truly shines. Dolby Vision + Dolby Sound streaming looks cinematic. Nature documentaries, action movies, sports - everything pops with detail and color accuracy. The panel alone feels like it justifies the price. Smart Features & Connectivity: Google TV Done Right If you’re already in the Google ecosystem, this TV fits right in. I was able to adjust my thermostat from the TV interface, which still feels futuristic. Google TV runs fast and clean - no need for an external streaming box unless you just prefer one. All the major apps are preinstalled, and the TV supports a wide range of video formats, including the rare x265H codec. Connectivity is generous: - 1 HDMI eARC - 3 additional HDMI ports - 2 USB ports (including a USB-A Gen 3) - 1 Optical Sound Out Everything I plugged in worked flawlessly. Gaming & Media Performance: Surprisingly Excellent Gamers, rejoice - this TV supports up to **144Hz**. Both of my consoles took full advantage of it, and the gameplay felt incredibly smooth and responsive. Input lag is low, motion handling is clean, and the large screen makes everything feel more immersive. 4K Blu-ray playback looks phenomenal as well. The quick settings menu deserves a shoutout - one button press brings up a clean, organized bar where you can tweak picture modes, sound, and inputs without digging through menus. The One Weak Spot: The Sound The built-in B&O speakers are… fine. Voices are clear, bass is decent, but push the volume too high and distortion creeps in. I tried presets, I tried an external soundbar - the distortion seems to be a software issue, not hardware. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it’s noticeable. Final Verdict: A Massive, Gorgeous, Worthwhile Upgrade Despite a few minor quirks, the TCL 98" QM7L Series is absolutely worth considering if you want a premium, theater-like experience at home. Once you’re sitting in front of this massive, gorgeous panel, those issues fade into the background. This TV delivers an immersive, cinematic experience that’s hard to walk away from. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone ready to take the leap into truly giant-screen home entertainment.

it’s been a long time since I bought me a TCL TV throughout the years. I’ve noticed that they’ve gone a massive improvement from being a budget TV to now offering a much premium television TV. TCL created their own latest tech for this year’s TV. They call it SQD Mini LED TV. Which TCL is saying that the color would be more vivid deeper color system and also include the new TSRAI processor so does that deep and see how this TCL QM7L from my own experience. DEVICE So I got the 98 inches QM7L and this thing is massive. I’ve never owned a TV this big before, weight about close to 120 lbs and it was a pain trying to bring this TV upstairs. unboxing the device is fairly simple. You can set up the stand while it’s still standing on the styrofoam. Unboxing TV These days has gone a lot better and I’m happy to see when dealing with something this big it’s a lot easier to unboxed than ever before. The design of the QM7L looks very premium considering this TV is $3000. I was happy to see how it looked from the front the side and the back. I’ve never owned a mini LED before so I’m very happy to mess around on the TV to see what it offers coming from buying OLED for the past 10 years. Back to the TV it offers for HDMI 2.1, the first two of the HDMI slide offers 4k at 144 Hz, while the other two it’s only 4K at 60 Hz the remote is full plastic. It’s lightweight. The best part is it is backlight so it helps a lot during night time viewing. Setting it up is fairly straightforward. You get the power cord and then you set up the leg and after that you turn it on the TV comes with Google TV and Google TV is more reliable than any other OS. than other TV supports. Google TVs easy it has tons of apps plus you can use a smart hub. I thought the remote layout was easy to follow. You got what you need from Netflix to Prime Video YouTube Disney+ and they have button for Tubi which I don’t really use. EXPERIENCE Now for my own experience watching and playing video games on QM7L when it comes to gaming, I had a great experience. I did adjust some picture settings and the TV automatically detects the gaming console as a gaming device, which turns on VRR and all the gaming features that the TV offers the TV is very responsive. It didn’t have any ghosting. The quality was crisp when it comes to movie it was the same thing. The TV look great during the daytime. I’ll make sure I use 100% brightness. I am using this TV beside the window and doing at night while watching films I put the brightness about 40% one thing that I did not like about the TV is the purple tint so taking a picture with your phone is very noticeable and on off angle the TV is fine but you can see the little pinkish color that’s starting to form when you’re off center when it comes to color brightness color vibrancy I did not have any issue with this TV matter fact I love it watching movies on 98 inches. It’s like straight cinema specially when you watch movie that offers a full IMAX experience. The other thing that I noticed was so good about this TV it’s less ghosting it were blooming when watching a wide screen movies the black bars stay pretty black majority of time with little blooming so I was very impressed to see that I thought the built-in speakers of the TV was also great. Honestly, I didn’t think I would need a sound bar anymore because how good it sounds in my house when it comes to using the remote. The TV is very responsive fast. Google was very responsive with his TV so the processor that TC I was using on his TV is great. TCL did mention that this TV offers 3000 peak brightness gaming on this TV looks fantastic. Immerse you a lot more than playing on a smaller tv. Overall, my experience for the past few days on this TV has been amazing now I’ve been watching a tons More TV is upstairs because of this 98 inches. CONCLUSION So do I think the TCLQM7L is worth it it is $3000 for 98 inches and I think it’s worth it. The only thing that I wish TCL would offer is for all the HDMI to support 144 Hz, $3000 that’s a lot of money., You’re pretty much on the premium category having all HDMI the same is not asking much. I understand there are higher tier version of the QM series. Which is where they offer a bit more feature, including a battery remote. even brighter panel, which I honestly dont need considering how bright this tv can get specially at night. The main thing that I dislike about this TV is that purple tint. it’s so hard for me to take pictures on off angle without the image looking purple, honestly even trying to take a picture on the center. my phone camera would still pick up that purple color. But without using the camera this TV is worth it. with built in Google TV which I don’t think I would ever buy another TV without Google TV, QM7L is fast, It’s bright and colorful. pretty much all things i could possibly need QM7L got it. I got no complaints on the remote. The settings are easy to use and it’s lightweight. I would say TCL SQD mini LED tech shows they are on the right path. Hopefully in the future that we can find or figure out a way to not have a purple tint on off angle because this TV would be 10 out of 10.

Picture is fantastic! I highly recommend this TV from the moment I saw it in the store and how bright it was clear picture. Crisp correct and clean.

The TCL - 98" Class QM7L Series 4K UHD HDR SQD-Mini LED Smart TV with Google TV HUGE! This is my first experience with a television of this size but not my first experience with TCL televisions. Over the years TCL has been stepping it up in terms of quality and features. I believe they are also have a joint venture with SONY if that tells you anything. Make sure you have at least 2 to 3 extra people to help you unbox and setup this television because as l stated earlier it is huge and comes in around 120 pounds. Setup is pretty standard with this television as it is with all other televisions. If you plan on mounting it on the wall make sure you get a wall mount that supports this size and weight. The panel is a SQD Mini Led panel which provides a deep and immersive viewing experience. I was wowed when I watched my first movie on it. The QM7L also features 144Hz refresh rate which provides smooth refresh rates when watching content and gaming. Speaking of gaming this television has a feature called TCL Game Pack which has a game accelerator, game bar and AMD FreeSyng, basically features that lower latency and deliver a better gaming experience. Also what's a smart TV these days without all of the apps which this TV has access to all your favorites. As far as audio goes the QM7L comes with Bang & Olufsen speakers on the back which is pretty cool. Though they sound good I personally already have a 5.1.2 home theatre system that I am using with the TCL QM7L In conclusion the CL OM7L packs a lot of advanced features in this massive 98 package that your family will enjoy together. If you plan on stepping up the real estate of your television this unit would be a prime choice.

Honestly blown away. 98 inches turns movie nights into a theater experience, brightness handles sunny rooms no problem, and colors look natural. Speakers are surprisingly decent. Google TV is a little ad-heavy but easy to work around. Setup takes two people. For the price vs. an OLED this size, it's a no-brainer.
