The 13th Floor Elevators - Psychedelic Sounds Of The 13th Floor Elevators - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

- Comes in a digi sleeve and printed inner wallet- Facsimile MONO edition .1966 debut album by Texan pioneers of psychedelia. Presenting the HIT singles 'You're Gonna Miss Me' and 'Reverberation'InchThis ground-breaking album not only defined psychedelic rock but informed punk a decade later, influencing everyone from Led Zeppelin to The Cramps. Originally issued in November 1966, this album has not only continued to gain importance but also world-wide recognition as the first bona fide psychedelic rock album. This is a facsimile edition of the original mono mix, a faithful reproduction of what was pressed in 1966. It represents the authentic sound and TRANSFORMATIVE POWER of The Psychedelic Sounds of The 13th Floor Elevators. The mono pressing is highly prized for it's uncompromising solid-sounding mix. Meticulous attention to detail has gone into this reissue and the digitisation to make sure every detailed nuance was preserved. A 96KHZ-24bit pass, using a valve signal at minus ten decibels (to eliminate turntable rumble), was conducted several times in order to gauge the best results. No attempt was made to rebalance or EQ. A half speed master was then cut at AIR Mastering and a test pressing was then dubbed using the same process and the dynamic range compared against the original pressing. The result was a better sound pressing than the original! Album Tracks 1. You're Gonna Miss Me 2. Roller Coaster 3. Splash One (Now I'm Home) 4. (Doubt) 5. Don't Fall Down 6. Fire Engine 7. Through the Rhythm 8. You Don't Know 9. Kingdom of Heaven 10. Monkey Island 11. Tried to Hide

Roky Erickson, the voice behind the Elevators, will forever be enshrined in that small who's who of Texas music pioneers that include T-Bone Walker, Buddy Holly, Freddie King, Willie Nelson and Janis Joplin. His followers are a small and devoted tribe; keepers of the flame, so to speak, for the inventor of Psychedelic music. Album Tracks 1. Roller Coaster 2. You're Gonna' Miss Me 3. Splash 4. Tried to Hide 5. Don't Fall Down 6. Reverberation 7. I'm Gonna' Love You Too 8. You Don't Know 9. Everybody Needs Somebody to Love 10. Monkey Island 11. Kingdom of Heaven 12. Levitation 13. Before You Accuse Me 14. She Lives in a Time of Her Own

The 13th Floor Elevators - Bull Of The Woods - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

- Deluxe digi sleeve with printed inner wallet- New 96KHZ-24bit transfer from an original mixed master- Facsimile stereo edition .1969 final studio album by the Texan pioneers of psychedelia. Presenting the singles 'Livin' On' and band's the ethereal swansong 'May The Circle Remain Unbroken'. It is an important album in the band's discography and has continued to gain significance as their story has become more widely known.  By the time the album was recorded, the band were facing extreme challenges, lead vocalist Roky Erickson had to be broken out of a mental hospital in Houston by the band's lyricist Tommy Hall. They fled to San Francisco, leaving the band's lead guitarist, Stacy Sutherland stranded in Texas - unable to leave the state boundaries due to his probation restrictions.  While the songs 'Livin' On', 'Never Another', 'Dr. Doom' and 'May the Circle Remain Unbroken' feature the full band - the remainder of the album features Sutherland leading a power trio featuring former bassist Ronnie Leatherman with drummer Danny Thomas. Soon after the recordings were completed Ronnie was drafted to Vietnam, Danny was subjected to electric-shock treatment and Stacy was imprisoned for parole violation. Despite the challenges faced during it's creation, BULL OF THE WOODS has continued to gain recognition as a unique and significant album for it's darker psychedelic sound. Since this is a faithful reproduction of the original LP pressing - the number of processes from the mixed master tape to lacquer were limited to an absolute minimum. A half speed master was then cut at AIR Studios and a test pressing was then dubbed and the dynamic range compared against the original pressing. The result was a better sound pressing than the original! Album Tracks 1. Livin' on 2. Barnyard Blues 3. Till Then 4. Never Another 5. Rose and the Thorn 6. Down By the River 7.
