Square has been on a roll lately and coming off that roll is Dio Field Chronicle. The story is your stereotypical political war in a kingdom where factions are pitted against each other for various reasons. Unlike the excellent story of Triangle Strategy, DioField’s takes a backseat to make room for some interesting real time strategy battle mechanics. You select on of four characters and assign them commands to take on the enemy. The board itself looks like a diorama with mini structures and obstacles. You are tasked with completing objectives that will earn you extra rewards in the form of exp, crafting components and currency to upgrade your troops. The music is okay, the voice acting is okay and the graphics are okay. The downside is, nothing about DioField really stands out or makes a lasting impression otherwise.

I don't know what you would deserve this as. A tactics game? Real time with pause? Whatever it is, it's exactly what I like. Sure, the story could have been better early on and the equipment near the end doesn't have enough variation, this completely capture my attention.

Originally, I played the demo of Diofield and the gameplay (turn-based/strategy) was fun, but the story left me feeling neutral. I was 50/50 on buying the game. I decided to buy it and I'd say the complete experience is a good buy. Try out the demo first.

Solid strategy RPG. Doesn’t do anything that breaks new ground but it’s still a decent time. If you’re into trophy hunting, the platinum is pretty easy but a bit time consuming.

I'm really liking this game, it's like a mix of FF Tactics and Diablo. You can tell this was an experiment by Square, hopefully it has success and they continue the series.

The world needs more Japanese RPG magic like this. Simply gorgeous. & actual hand-drawn rendered cover artwork instead of cold sterile CG!

Square-Enix has done it again and brought a new IP to the table using an old-school mechanic to the next gen console with this one. This tactics oriented game plays a lot like Final Fantasy XII/ and Revenant Wings using real time strategy. The demo was great so I picked this up. It's a little harder to find this one so if you are interested and see it make sure you grab it.

This game is a bit similar to the Fire Emblem ones, but the gameplay changes, turn-based strategic game. I'm liking it so far.

Really liked it took about 20-30 hours to get all trophies but the game play was very fun

Wasn't expecting it to be as fun since it's a different kind-of play style than I'm accustomed to. Still it was very fun and the story wasn't so bad.

I cannot recommend this at full price. It lacks a lot of polish and the difficulty is extremely easy.

Fun game so far. A lot of smaller games coming from Square Enix’s publishing division that is refreshing in this day and age.
