The Good Lovelies - We Will Never Be The Same - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

With nine critically acclaimed releases, a #1 single, a JUNO Award, and a devoted fan base blanketing the globe, roots-pop combo The Good Lovelies are among Canada's brightest musical lights. The hardworking trio of Caroline Brooks, Kerri Ough, and Susan Passmore, are guitar-wielding songwriters all, and queens of the goosebump-raising three-part harmony. On InchWe Will Never Be the SameInch you can hear the seventeen years Caroline Marie Brooks, Kerri Ough & Susan Passmore have spent singing and writing together in the rich vocal arrangements, layered guitars, garnishes of banjo and wurlitzer and rich drum and percussion textures. InchWe Will Never Be the SameInch is Good Lovelies' first collection of original material since their 2018 InchShapeshiftersInch and, in terms of instrumentation and musical tone, hearkens back to their acoustic, rootsy beginnings nearly two decades ago. It is a powerful collection of songs that explore the entry into the second act of life - into the myriad of feelings and experiences that accompany middle-age, raising young children and facing the grief of losing loved ones. There is power and strength in this album; a story of lives well-lived and an undercurrent of hope. It is a testament not only to their artistry, but also their humanity, and is an album that will continue to endear this beloved group to fans of all ages. InchWe Will Never Be the SameInch is a beautiful offering that has been well worth the wait.1. Young at Heart2. Tip to Toe3. Keep Moving4. Baby I (Say What You Need)5. I Should Tell You More6.
