Great JRPG
Game is fun. Story is solid. Censorship/Alterations was/were not needed. FE stat RNG I can do with out. Thankfully they put a mechanic in place to overcome this. Has a strong Persona 3/4/5 vibe to it. JRPG of the year(2016) for me.

Not what was expected, but a great game still
Originally this game was set to be a crossover game from Shin Megami Tensei series and the Fire Emblem series. That partnership resulted in the curret game, Tokyo Mirage Seseions #FE. You can find elements of both games into the series, with Shin Megami's gameplay and familiar Fire Emblem characters (including Fire Emblem Awakening). The game plays out on your career as a Japanese pop idol, that is very fun and entertaining. This game is recommended to those more interested in Japanese culture, as the game is subtitled in english and most in game banter is not subtitled.

Great Game, OK Collector's Edition
This is mostly a review on the collector's edition. The game itself is a nice standard RPG that's much more accessible to play than your typical JRPGs. If you're a fan of the Persona series, you'd definitely gravitate towards this more than any fan of Shin Megami Tensei or Fire Emblem seeing as the combat system is very similar to their games. If you're a big fan of Fire Emblem you'll be a bit disappointed knowing that any part that is FE related is reduced to your "mirages" that you summon to fight for you. The collector's edition pretty much just comes with some stickers (meh), a CD sampler soundtrack (awesome) with some optional cover art slips for each of the main characters and their respective "singles". It also comes with a neat artbook, which is great for any fan of behind the scenes with games and conceptual art. Overall it's a decent deal if you already have the Best Buy Gamer's Club Unlocked and get that 20% discount!

A Solid Turn Based JRPG
If you have enjoyed the Shin Megami Tensei style of turn-based combat or Atlus developed JRPG's in general, you are more than likely the like this title. Many people wrote this off expecting a more grounded crossover between Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem, two acclaimed franchises, but Tokyo Mirage Sessions manages to stand on its own with it's unique theme and engaging gameplay. If you enjoy solid JRPG turn-based combat, fun characters, and excellent blend of art and music then Tokyo Mirage Sessions is the game for you. *As this is a special edition review, I can say I'm satisfied with the Selection Soundtrack, artbook, stickers, and DLC codes that game with the edition. The Soundtrack comes in a stylish sleeve case containing art cards featuring the in-game artists for the songs along with the lyrics in Japanese and English on the back side of the respective art cards. The artbook has a great selection of concept art and some words from the developers. Overall, a worthwhile package.

Great anime game, with a couple problems
TMS is a solid and fun JRPG, especially for fans of either Fire Emblem or Shin Megami Tensai. The characters are great, music is great, and story (and especially side stories) is a lot of fun. The DLC is great if you don't want the game to be as much of a grind, and comes with this edition. The edition also includes stickers (Meh) and a soft cover art book (woo!). Highly recommend the game and the edition.
