The WiFi Mesh I've Been Waiting 2 Years For!!

I just upgraded to this new mesh WiFi 7 system. I work in IT, so I'm fully aware that WiFi 7 isn't certified yet. I'm not too worried about that. This system is exactly what I've patiently been waiting for: a mesh system with MULTIPLE multi-gig ports and 160Mhz channel width support. Netgear Orbi does not support 160Mhz channel width. What does this mean? Your WiFi 6 devices can connect at 2.4Gbps speed if they have 2x2 MIMO antenna with 160Mhz channel support. When WiFi 7 devices come out, they will support 320Mhz channel width. Anyway, on to the quick review. I have all 3 of the BE85 units connected via ethernet for wired backhaul support. All 62 devices in my home connected flawlessly, and my WiFi 6 laptop is roaming seamlessly around the house. I get 950 - 1200Mbps download speed over WiFi. I get 2,300Mbps download speed over wired ethernet on my 2Gig fiber connection. My Ring cameras outside have rock solid connections. My doorbell camera has a network connection RSSI -31. Driveway cam has RSSI -52. Most common devices in a person's house I would say range from -40 to -70 for a signal strength. The higher the number, the worse the signal strength. When devices start to reach -71 and beyond, your devices can and will start to lose connections. The closer to 0, the BETTER the signal strength. Seeing my doorbell camera with a -31 signal strength, that is phenomenal! This is an insane amount to pay for a 3-piece mesh router setup, but you have to look at the hardware that is being offered. This is the price you pay to be an earlier adopter. I've literally been waiting 2 years for mesh WiFi with these features. I've had TP-Link mesh WiFi for 2-3 years now. In my opinion, if you can wire all the mesh units together for ethernet backhaul support, TP-Link is one of the BEST mesh WiFi systems you can buy. They offer seamless roaming around the house and my connection has been stable on the M5 units. Let's hope BE85 units offer the same consistency.

        Awesome mesh wifi system

Great and powerful wifi system, so far wifi really steady. I was having issues with my traditional routers ( new one, wifi 7 ) and my house has thick walls, therefore my electronics were having issues getting the signal, or at least steady signals. With this system, OH MY GOD !!!! Amazing, powerful wifi, my electronics getting strong signal, and so far not a drop of signal at all. White color and Elegant nodes and they blend with the surrounding, the tiny light at the bottom of 'em is deem, discreet and not annoying at all. Set up is ridiculously very easy, you need to download the Deco App, and from there it guides you step by step until your whole system is up and running. Awesome mesh wifi system !!!.

        TP-Link Deco BE85 Review

I purchased this amazing mesh system in June. I wanted to give some time so I can give a true review. First, I want to say that I replaced my Eero Pro 6 with this system. I did not have any problems with my Eero and highly recommend Eero to anyone. I upgrade my internet plan with Frontier from 1gig to 2gig and almost purchased the Pro 6e, but didn’t like the fact that the max wired speed was basically 2gig. There is no room for future upgrade speed if I wanted to 5 gig through my ISP and would have to buy another mesh again. It is just my personal preference. Now my review for Deco BE85. The box presentation is impeccable. TP-Link did not hold out on the presentation. Setup is simple. Downloaded the app first and just follow the instructions. I plugged one node(The main router) into my wall outlet first. All nodes are interchangeable and the one hooked up to your ISP will be the main. I also want to advise that my infrastructure is telephone line that the tech converted the ends to Ethernet. Telephone line is rated Cat 5e and can do speeds up to 5 gbps at a short distance. That was the best way without having to wall fish Ethernet line or drilling holes. Once the main was set up, I plugged in the second node and followed the instructions. I do not have the third plugged in because the two nodes cover my whole house. All three suppose to cover over 9,000 sqft. That’s a mansion lol. The second node I am doing a wireless back haul and it is located in my office. Overall, this system has been great. It has been about 30 days and no issues. Wired speeds are awesome and all my Wi-Fi 6 devices is almost getting a gig on speed test. This system is really future proof. Once Wi-Fi 7 device are available, I will not have to upgrade.
