I am very happy with the TP-Link Tapo Smart Video Doorbell. The resolution is good! I can easily see who’s ringing at my door with stunning detail. The motion detection is reliable and fast, and the notifications arrive instantly on my phone. Setting it up to the wifi and the taco app was a breeze. Though the mounting to the door was a bit confusing. I think the mounting instructions need more clarity. I really like that It comes with an optional diagonal base to help you aim the camera better . Best of all is that there is no monthly subscription! That was a major deciding factor for me. Just download the app, install a micro SD and you are good to go. Sound quality so far is acceptable. what I like though is that you can even personalize a quick response audio with a recording of your voice. Battery life seems excellent so far. Since I bought it (about more than a month ago) I have to recharge it once. I also live in a complex with frequent neighbor traffic. Recharging took about three hours. To extend the battery life I decreased the sensitivity of the motion sensor and I set up an activity zone for the camera to focus on. Overall I highly recommend this doorbell for anyone looking for a high-quality, affordable, and subscription-free video doorbell.

Positive: so far great I see everything and get alerts when someone is in the frame. Clarity when someone is at the door is excellent. Another great thing that was unexpected was when I connected it to Alexa and someone rings the doorbell it sounds on the Alexa speaker and notifies me by saying someone rang the door that was an unexpected plus, although it scared the crap out of my kids. Negative: when I purchased this, my plan was to connect it to the existing doorbell, but due to the positioning of my doorbell, I was not able to do that so I am working with the battery power only. Due to high traffic in my area the battery drains pretty quickly so I think I will need to contact an electrician to move or place some electric connections so I can run the doorbell in a different area, but that’s not fault with the doorbell camera. That is a fault of the positioning.
