About this product
With In Faded Sepia, the Garibaldi Trio offers a musical journey where memory, lyricism, and stylistic contrasts intertwine in a remarkably rich sonic palette. The album brings together works by Lowell Liebermann, Dorothy Chang, and Stephen Chatman, along with a vibrant tribute to Duke Ellington through original arrangements by Yuri Kuriyama. Through these works, the trio showcases the full sonic range of the clarinet, viola, and piano. This intimate yet expansive ensemble allows for a seamless transition from profound lyricism to a more vibrant energy, with occasional nods to jazz. The recording's central theme is Dorothy Chang's Persistence, and more specifically it's 'Song, in Faded Sepia' movement, which inspired the album's title. Like an old photograph whose contours have softened with time, the music evokes a memory. Fragments of a familiar theme reappear, like fleeting images that cannot be held onto. Between the almost diabolical fervor of Liebermann's trio, the virtuosic and luminous sweep of Chatman's Garibaldi Suite, and the timeless elegance of Ellington revisited with freedom and imagination, In Faded Sepia weaves a sensitive dialogue between tradition and modernity.

![Leonardo Pierdomenico - Piano Concerto Mazurek Rondo - COMPACT DISCS [CD]](https://pisces.bbystatic.com/image2/BestBuy_US/images/products/989a5c2c-405c-4b0b-93d3-329e682ded2f.jpg;maxHeight=422;maxWidth=264?format=webp)
Previous albums on Piano Classics by Leonardo Pierdomenico have won enthusiastic praise from the international critics. Of his debut Liszt recital including the Csardas macabre (PCL10151), Fanfare noted 'scrupulous performances, featuring exceptional textural clarity and rhythmic resilience, coupled with an often striking attention to harmonic nuance.' Gramophone awarded it Editor's Choice 'His highly developed technique and cultivated sound, both adaptable to a variety of effects, are wedded to those twin essentials for artistic Liszt playing imagination combined with thoroughgoing, scrupulous musicality.' Such qualities illuminate his new recording of the Piano Concerto by Dvorák, made in the Czech Republic with an orchestra who live and breathe the composer's music. One of his most neglected works, the Piano Concerto requires particularly devoted advocacy as well as formidable virtuosity to overcome the technical shortcomings of Dvorák's piano writing, but the effort is rewarded with episodes of no less ardent lyricism than the high points of his concertos for violin and cello. The Piano Concerto, however, burns with a ferocity all it's own, more similar in that regard to Schumann's impassioned writing for soloist and orchestra. The unusual pairings draw on the talents of the Pardubice orchestra's front desks, with two equally unfamiliar concertante miniatures by Dvorák, the Mazurek for violin and orchestra (dedicated to Pablo de Sarasate) and the Rondo for cello and orchestra intended for Hanus Wihan, who would in time inspire Dvorák to compose the Cello Concerto. Thus the album will complete a Dvorák concerto collection on CD as well as offering a further demonstration of Leonardo Pierdomenico's artistry. Album Tracks 1. Piano Concerto in G minor, Op. 33 2. Mazurek for Violin & Orchestra, Op. 49 3. Rondo for Cello & Orchestra in G minor, Op.

The musicians of Trio Gaspard explore the remarkable malleability of the piano trio in their program, combining familiar repertoire with a one-of-a-kind InchoutlierInch from the 20th century. Through his contributions to the genre during the final quarter of the 18th century, Joseph Haydn shifted expectations for what the piano trio could encompass- contributions that helped define the principles and rhetoric of Classical style itself. Only a generation later, Franz Schubert left a substantial mark on the genre through works that have earned a place among the most beloved masterpieces of the chamber music literature. They also anticipate the epic scale of some of the examples to follow later in the Romantic century. Meanwhile, the rarely heard Présence by Bernd Alois Zimmermann represents an interdisciplinary approach to the piano trio concept, layering it with words and dance to transform the inherently abstract genre of chamber music into an Inchimaginary ballet.Inch This performance pays homage to the German composer during this centenary of his birth (2018). Album Tracks 1. Piano Trio No. 44 in E Major, Hob. XV 28 2. Applause 3. Présence (Ballet Blanc en Cinq Scènes) 4. Applause 5. Piano Trio in E Flat Major, Op. 100 D 929 6. Applause
