About this product
Kory Clarke was probably never long for Trouble, but this 2008 live (and only) featuring himself and the band documents the good, the bad and the ugly of his tenure. Coming in after the legendary Eric Wagner left (again) Clarke exhibits none of the mournful wail that Wagner had and instead is like a rocket fueled injection into the Trouble vocalist spot.Wartell, Franklin and Olsen are there to hold down the fort as the band makes it's way through a set of material from the Simple Mind Condition with sprinkles of their not too distant past thrown in for good measure. Instead of recording an all new studio album with Clarke and letting him cherry pick from the catalog the songs that work best for him (ala Van Halen w/Hagar or Dio w/Heaven and Hell) the band hit the road with Clarke manning the boards. His raspy whiskey soaked vocals lend themselves to songs such as The Eye and The Sleeper but run afoul as he never could quite get the classic Tempter down right as to why it's not featured here.No doubt Clarke's antiestablishment rhetoric fits the band lending some of these songs a more poignant bent as he screams 'middle east Vietnam' during Plastic Green Head, but it's also nice when the band pops into the instrumental Endtime giving Clarke a moment to rest. Live in Los Angles is a document to a band in flux as Clarke would exit and Exhorder front man Kyle Thomas would enter next. Album Tracks 1. Intro 2. R.I.P 3. The Sleeper 4. Touch the Sky 5. Plastic Green Head 6. The Eye 7. Simple Mind Condition 8. Mr. White 9. End Time 10. Trouble Maker 11. End of My Daze

No one knows who first gave Beethoven's Trio Op. 11 the nickname Gassenhauer (Inchstreet songInch). Neither do we know if the name was kindly intended or derogatory, chosen to boost sales or perhaps meant ironically (Heinrich Heine, for instance, would later satirize the omnipresence of a tune, sung everywhere, from Weber's opera chorus InchWir winden dir den JungfernkranzInch). The catchy tune in Beethoven's final movement with variations was the vocal trio InchPria ch'io l'impegnoInch (InchBefore I go to workInch) from the comic operaL'Amor marinaro (The Sailor's Love), composed in 1797 by Joseph Weigl, who was a godchild of Haydn and had been pupil of Antonio Salieri. The aria enjoyed widespread, long-term popularity more than 30 years after the opera's première, Paganini still delighted Vienna audiences with variations on the same tune. Beethoven wrote his instrumental trio only half a year after the première, probably fulfilling a commission by clarinetist Joseph Bähr, who is said to have asked for variations on that theme. When clarinetist Kilian Herold asked composer Johannes Schöllhorn to arrange a Beethoven work for trio, Schöllhorn thought of the Bagatelles Op.119. The idea was to add a final level to a three-level concept, Composing Beethoven, consisting in an original work by Beethoven, then one of Beethoven's arrangements of his own works, and, finally, a work by Beethoven arranged by a 21st-century composer. Schöllhorn, already well-experienced in creative approaches to music of the past, deconstructs the original piano texture here in such a way that the resulting sound is not too lean, but opens up new areas of freedom for the pianist's new partners. He has conceived a light, airy trio texture brimming with discreet punch lines, interruptions, disruptions, unexpected connections, and cello sonorities ranging from sul tasto to col legno battuto, resulti
