Genre: Rock
Description: Double 180 gram vinyl LP pressing. Pop is the ninth studio album by Irish rock band U2. It was produced by Flood, Howie B, and Steve Osborne, and was released on 3 March 1997 on Island Records. The album was a continuation of the band's 1990s musical reinvention, as they incorporated alternative rock, techno, dance, and electronica influences into their sound. Pop employed a variety of production techniques that were relatively new to U2, including sampling, loops, programmed drum machines, and sequencing. Recording sessions began in 1995 with various record producers, including Nellee Hooper, Flood, Howie B, and Osborne, who were introducing the band to various electronica influences. Album Tracks 1. Discothèque 2. Do You Feel Loved 3. Mofo 1. If God Will Send His Angels 2. Staring at the Sun 3. Last Night on Earth 1. Gone 2. Miami 3. The Playboy Mansion 1. If You Wear That Velvet Dress 2. Please 3. Wake Up Dead Man

U2 at their Quirkiest Best
Pop gets a lot of hate, but IMO it is their crowning achievement. It was so far a head of its time that it sounds better and more relevant today than it did back in 1997. As much as I love the classic U2 sound, I would love for them to get back to this kind of experimentation. This is a quality vinyl pressing as well. I have an original '97 copy on vinyl and this one holds up just as well to the original.

Give it a go.
A very awkward period of the band’s existence. However, this album is better than what the critics said. Set aside the weird visual wines at the time. You will be pleasantly surprised when you close your eyes and listen

U2 Vinyl - POP
"Pop" was one of my absolute favorite albums from U2. Even though most people thought the band lost its way a bit during this period, I always felt "Pop" contained some truly incredible and meaningful songs, which for me, still hold up today. The remastering of these songs sound absolutely incredible.

U2's POP is the Next Thing in POP
The 90s, for U2, was experimental and a huge departure from previous decades of music. It blended electronic music with sampling, guitars and some pretty far out lyrics. POP was their last album in the 90s and their most "pop" record. It draws on the irony of the simple-minded people who are constantly searching for the "next" thing. While it doesn't make fun of those people, POP absolutely gives those listeners exactly what they want in the form of this album. The next thing, at the time....
