Various Artists - Best of Pink Floyd (Redux) (Various Artists) - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Enhance your experience of Magnetic Eye Records and friends, who are respectfully paying homage to British rock legends JETHRO TULL and their 1971 milestone album with InchAqualung ReduxInch, by adding even more deep cuts and classics that are offered on the companion album InchBest of Jethro Tull ReduxInch. JETHRO TULL are musical giants with a unique sound - or rather sounds that have remained singular in the canon of rock music. Founded in Blackpool, Lancashire, in 1967 by the Scotsman Ian Anderson, the band has undergone several stylistic shifts and changes of image during their still ongoing career of many decades. Yet largely due to the characteristic voice of their frontman and the inclusion of a flute as an essential instrument, JETHRO TULL have always had an inimitable and easily recognisable trademark sonic fingerprint. JETHRO TULL have pushed the limits of what defines rock music from the start. Elements of classical music, jazz, and traditional music such as compound time signatures have led to the band being classified as art rock and later progressive rock - among a host of other terms. The British legend has managed to balance the tightrope between art, wide appeal and commercial success with seeming ease. This was helped by the outstanding showmanship of Ian Anderson, whose stagecraft and performances even rivalled his contemporary, the legendary British singer Arthur Brown. Enhance your Redux experience of Magnetic Eye Records and friends, who are respectfully paying homage to US-industrial rock legends NINE INCH NAILS and their 1994 milestone album InchThe Downward SpiralInch, by adding even more spectacular deep cuts and classics that are offered on the companion album InchBest of Nine Inch Nails ReduxInch. At this moment, the world's reliance on machines, algorithms, and artificial intelligence has never been greater. This makes now the perfect time to reflect on the emergence of a musical force whose blend of mechanized instrumentation and raw emotion was singular and revolutionary. NINE INCH NAILS were formed in Cleveland, Ohio in 1988. They arrived around the same time as grunge when Generation X was developing an awareness of itself, but while there was cross-appeal, the sound they created was clearly and intentionally something very different. NINE INCH NAILS were at least twice as cynical as everyone else and reflected the singular, driven musical expression of mastermind Trent Reznor. Of NINE INCH NAILS' seminal breakthrough album, Spin magazine respectfully had this to say in 2024 InchAs The Downward Spiral turns 30 this year, it still stands as an act of artistic transgression against the limits of popular music. Pushing the boundaries of creative censorship, it is still considered Nine Inch Nails' most daring and uncompromising album.Inch The Magnetic Eye Redux Series features hand-picked classic albums from across the history of rock and metal re-imagined in their entirety from start to finish.
