About this product

This 3-album set proposes an unexpected and compelling itinerary. It contains recordings of fifteen students of the same teacher, Pasquale Iannone, who belong to different generations united by the same school in the absence of more imaginative definitions, let's call it the InchApulian piano schoolInch. That it is a real school is demonstrated both by the extraordinary concentration of talents, initially formed in Bari and then radiated towards the nearby didactic poles, and by the excellent results achieved by masters and students over the years. It is quite easy to trace the origins of this school the catalyst was Nino Rota (Milan, 1911 - Rome, 1979), the protagonist of the transformation of the Liceo musicale of the Apulian capital into the conservatory InchNiccolò PiccinniInch, of which he was the director from 1950 to 1976. Together with other teachers, Michele Marvulli (Altamura, 1929) and Marisa Somma (Bari, 1941), he made numerous talents grow and mature, between the rigor of study and the daily relationship with music. Another source of nourishment for the rhizome has been for many years the attendance of Aldo Ciccolini (Naples, 1925 - Asnières- sur-Seine, 2015), a master as prestigious as far from any academicism, with whom Pasquale Iannone, like other colleagues, has continued and perfected his training from 1985 to 1995 and with whom he performed in duo the Concerto for two pianos by Francis Poulenc. Album Tracks 1. Mazurka Op. 17 no. 4 in A minor 2. Polonaise No. 6 in A Flat, Op. 53 InchHeroicInch 3. Etude Tableaux Op. 39~No. 6 in A minor 4. Ballade No. 2 in B minor, S.171 5. Stefano Cascioli - Piano Works Vol. 1 - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

After deepening the piano works of Francesco Pennisi; Stefano Cascioli undertakes the exploration of the work of the Hungarian composer Ferenc Farkas (1905-2000). He now comes out for Stradivarius Farkas and Italy. Baroque suggestions; first volume of the series with the publication of the integral for piano. The Hungarian composer Ferenc Farkas (1905-2000) had particularly close ties to Italy. This; however; was not only of decisive importance in his career but also an influence on the development of Hungarian music history through his students, which even indirectly left a mark on European music. Farkas was the head of the composition department of the Budapest Academy of Music from 1949 to 1975; and his class produced such excellent composers as György Ligeti; György Kurtág; Emil Petrovics; Sándor Szokolay; Miklós Kocsár; Zoltán Jeney; Zsolt Durkó; and Attila Bozay. His legendary lessons played an important role in turning the interest of Hungarian composers toward Latin culture and loosening the grip of the German influence that lasted for centuries. Farkas followed Respighi's example both in his approach and in his referencing the musical past; but in terms of style Alfredo Casella and Gian Francesco Malipiero were closer to him. His songs and chamber works were soon successfully presented in the Italian capital; where the Teatro Indipententi performed the comedy of Amelia Della Pergola (stage name Diotima) Non ci sono più donne with his music on March 15, 1930. Various Artists - Il Maestro E Lo Scolare - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

For the first time, here is an album full of piano duets written expressly for teacher and student, from the first in the genre, Haydn's Il Maestro e lo Scolare, through many well-known composers of the 19th and 20th centuries up to the current decade. Very few of these works have attained any sort of public awareness apart from Stravinsky's Easy Pieces, but though written deliberately with one 'easy' part for the learner, the pieces are thoroughly delightful, tuneful and never simplistic indeed they display all the hallmarks of Romantic, Impressionist (and in two cases jazz-inspired) music-making of high quality and all make more extremely entertaining and pleasant listening. Antony Gray is a London-based pianist and teacher with acclaimed recordings to his name. His work with students of all ages, those that wish to pursue advanced training and even those who do not, produces a wonderful rapport which shines through in these recordings. Over 50 of Gray's students are represented on the album. Album Tracks 1. Petit carillon 2. Maestro e lo Scolare 3. Zwei Romanzen, Op. 111~No. 1 in G minor 4.
