This is the story of how a tiny tag from New Jersey changed the course of music history not once but twice. Cheri Records was established in 1974 in New Jersey and run by one Boo Frazier. Cheri's output was limited, producing a catalogue of just eleven releases between the years 1974 and 1982. On the face of it, this appears to be insubstantial output. However, if you dig a little deeper, the quality released on Cheri Records reveals an exceptional legacy of groundbreaking music.A dark horse in the world of record labels, a true unsung legend that would go on to alter the course of musical history and intersect with a remarkable array of talented artists, bands and DJs. Catawba Records was born in the late seventies; a tag founded by Richard Mack who ran promotions for CBS Records. Mack was responsible for breaking Gold & Platinum sellers including Earth Wind & Fire, The O'Jays, Wild Cherry, Emotions, Santana, Betty Wright and The Jackson's. Catawba Records hosted some of the coolest up and coming names in dance music during the early to mid eighties, including Dutch Robinson, Jimmy Castor, Wilson Pickett, Jackie Moore and Brook Benton. Radio Days - The Paul Jones Era is the first complete collection of existing BBC recordings made by the original Manfred Mann lineup with vocalist Paul Jones between 1964 and 1966. The band join legendary BBC presenter Brian Matthew through the rapidly changing music styles and environment of the mid-'60s. The sessions also feature another legend, bassist Jack Bruce, who was previously with The Graham Bond Organisation and John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. After his stint with Manfred Mann, Bruce would go on to form Cream with Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker. His presence in the group is highlighted on InchLong Hair, Unsquare Dude Called JackInch never before officially available. InchRadio DaysInch also includes group and individual interviews.
