The Heartaches - LampPostLoveSongs(2022Remaster) - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

The Heartaches were formed in 1961 to appear at a grammar school program. The following two years were spent listening to the radio and practicing songs that they heard and liked, and then, attempting to put them into an acappella rendition that sounded pleasing to the ear. They worked hard to achieve their own style and blend of harmony, and at that time it was termed blue-eyed soul. In 1964 they entered a state talent contest and were awarded third place. This led to various performances in and around New Jersey. In 1965 they signed with Catamount Records, and in the summer of 1966 their first , InchI'm So YoungInch b/w InchA Lover's CallInch was released. They appeared at more shows, especially the State Theater in Jersey City with Dickenson's Royal Counts and the now famous Persuasions. Their blend of harmony was made up of one girl and a four man backup. The lead voice shifted from Joanne Lucas to Gerry D'Alesandro in 1967. The band consisted of Joey Calamito (bass), Tommy D'Alesandro (baritone), Charlie Romano and Bobby Taglarini (tenors). In 1968 Joanne Bevaqua and Russel Capo were added. With the fading out of the acappella sound in 1969 they made a few last performances, and like other groups of their nature, took a break and and settled down remembering a few of the bigger stars they had the chance to perform with, such as Dionne Warwick, Lenny Welch and Little Anthony, but never forgetting the many smaller talents they performed with and competed against. This compilation was originally released in the 1970s on Catamount Records in a small, limited run. It is presented here newly remastered and finally made available in the digital domain. . Album Tracks 1. Lover's Call 2. My Vow to You 3. So Much in Love 4. Pennies from Heaven 5. Valerie 6. Change of Heart 7. Gee Whiz 8. Greetings (This Is Uncle Sam) 9. I'm So Young 10. Tears on My

Ron Queen - Hurry Up This Way Again - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

A well-known and highly respected vocalist on the Washington, DC scene, Ron Queen was considered something of a Inchsecret weapon,Inch often recruited by established bands who were searching for that special voice to make their live shows pop. His first exposure to a large audience came at the age of nine when his mother thrust him on stage with the one and only James Brown, the Godfather of Soul. From then on in, Ron knew he was destined to be a performer. By the time Queen was a teenager he was singing in about 15 different bands in the DC area. The first well known act he sang with was the popular Motown group known as the Dynamic Superiors, who scored a huge hit with the romantic sweet soul ballad InchShoe Shoe Shine.Inch It was then that Ron's reputation as a Inchsinger's singerInch began to grow beyond the confines of the local scene. After performing for a few years on the Dynamic Superiors live shows, Queen was approached by Major Harris, who recruited him to sing in his band and he toured with Harris for nearly three years, further establishing his reputation. Because of his exceptional talent, he rarely found himself with any down time. After all these years, Ron is currently in the studio with the legendary Philly Soul producer Butch Ingram and is working on his first ever, long overdue, solo album. The first single from the upcoming album, InchHurry Up This Way AgainInch is a song originally recorded by The Stylistics. It reached #18 in the U.S. R&B chart and was written by Cynthia Biggs and Dexter Wansel in 1980. It has been covered by Phyllis Hyman on her album, Forever With You; and sampled in the song, InchPolitics As UsualInch by Jay-Z, on his debut album, Reasonable Doubt. The song has long been a favorite of Ron's and he delivers it as masterfully as anyone has before him. These are exciting times for Queen, as he steps out of the shadows and into t
