In 1964, vocalist Karin Krog released Norway's first jazz solo LP, and By Myself has helped shape her career as a singer. In 2026, 62 years after the first , she releases the LP Tomorrow's Yesterday, and it cannot be ruled out that this may be her last physical album. All the songs are recorded in duo or trio . The musical sounds are excitingly combined with her voice and Rob Luft on guitar, John Surman on saxophone/bass clarinet on side A. Whilst on side B we hear Karin Krog with Erlend Slettevoll on piano/electric piano and Rob Waring on vibraphone. Album Tracks 1. Angel Eyes 2. For All We Know 3. Give Me the Simple Life 4. Where Flamingoes Fly 5. You Don't Know What Love Is 6. Dream Dancing 7. Tomorrow's Yesterday 8. Jubilee 9. Snowfall

Giuseppe Verdi finished his first volume of Romances with none other than two of Gretchen's songs from Goethe's Faust, which gives the publication a particularly fascinating perspective. Imagine the late bloomer from Busseto, who was just working on his first opera, and was considering all possible text sources - it might be conjecture but not completely absurd to see a first, tentative approach to Goethe with the pieces InchMeine Ruh ist hinInch (InchMy peace is goneInch) and InchNeige, neige, du SchmerzenreicheInch (InchLean down, you who are full of sorrowInch). It may be only postulation, but consider if we had lost not just the planned King Lear, but a Faust as well...! The second volume of six Romances (1845) is more colorful and varied, as humorful and melancholy strains alternate. The gloomy yet beautiful evening scene InchIl tramonotInch (InchThe SunsetInch) [16] stands next to InchZingaraInch with it's bolero rhythms and musically blazing eyes [3], and next to the desire of the prisoner for the freedom of the lovely evening star (InchAd una stellaInch) [15]. After that, in the cheery chattering of the InchSpazzacaminoInch [2] (InchThe ChimneysweepInch), it's easy to understand why his harmonies in three-quarter time aren't all that elegant InchI look coarse and black, and everyone who gets too close to me gets black as well...Inch At the end, Felice Romani's glowing ode to his wife (InchIl misteroInch) [17] leads on to a sparkling paean to wine apparently both are cardiotonic medicines, if we are to believe the last words in each. Album Tracks 1. Stornello 2. Lo Spazzacamino 3. La Zingara 4. Perduta Ho la Pace 5. Brindisi (2A Versione) 6. More, Elisa, Io Stanco Poeta 7. Nell'orror Di Notte Oscura 8. La Seduzione 9. Non L'accostar All'urna 10. L'esule 11. Il Poveretto 12. Brindisi 13. In Solitaria Stanza 14. Deh, Pietoso, Oh
![Christoph Ullrich - Domenico Scarlatti: Complete Piano Sonatas, Vol. 12 - COMPACT DISCS [CD]](https://pisces.bbystatic.com/image2/BestBuy_US/images/products/e01a9ff1-6f66-4138-90aa-291fef907553.jpg;maxHeight=422;maxWidth=264?format=webp)
Who would have thought at the beginning of the great Scarlatti adventure 15 years ago that there would be no CD at the end? The four of us, who sail the two-voiced oceans of the world in the Scarlatti boat, certainly not Captain Christoph Ullrich at the steering wheel (keyboard), Gerd Finkenstein in the engine room (grand piano), me as radio operator (recording), and Thomas Seedorf (scientific support and texts) in the crow's nest. All old white men with weathered faces. Well, the CD is still alive. But the project needs another two years... We're going to see it through! Who knows, maybe it will be the last serious big complete edition ever produced for this medium? Then, among many other things, it will also be a tribute to the days when you could still hold what you loved in your hands. Our current position Domenico Scarlatti wrote 555 piano sonatas. This is volume 12 of 17. Volumes 14 and 15 are already available, a total of 12 double and 2 triple CDs so far. Volumes 13 (already recorded, not yet released), 16 (30 sonatas), and 17 (12 sonatas) are still missing. This means that 513 of the 555 sonatas have been recorded and 477 released. There are still 42 left to go to the home port. We are getting closer to our goal! There are so many interesting, admirable, and thought-provoking aspects to this opus! It would fill books. But we'll save that for the end.Turn these 30 new sonatas into an Advent calendar! Or a January calendar. Every day is unique; every day deserves a different sonata by Domenico Scarlatti! Album Tracks 1. Keyboard Sonata in D Major, K. 388 (L. 414). Presto 2. Keyboard Sonata in D Major, K. 389 (L. 482). Allegro 3. Keyboard Sonata in G Major, K. 390 (L. 234). Allegro 4.
