About this product

Recorded at Denver, Colorado's Mighty Fine Productions with GRAMMY Award-winning producer Ted Hutt (The Gaslight Anthem, Old Crow Medicine Show) and GRAMMY Award-winning engineer Ryan Mall, Hotel Last Resort resides among Violent Femmes' finest work, simultaneously refining and redefining their one-of-a-kind take on American music, mingling front porch folk, post-punk, spiritual jazz, country blues, avant garde improvisation, and golden age rock 'n' roll. Founded and fronted of course by Gano and Ritchie, the group remains as warm, wise and weird as ever before, with such new favorites as 'Another Chorus' and 'Everlasting You' continuing to mine the vast range of ideas, melodic complexity, and organic sonic craftsmanship that has characterized the band's body of work since their landmark 1983 debut. Album Tracks 1. Another Chorus 2. I Get What I Want 3. I'm Nothing (Featuring Stefan Janoski) 4. Adam Was a Man 5. Not Ok 6. Hotel Last Resort (Featuring Tom Verlaine) 7. Everlasting You 8. It's All or Nothing 9. I'm Not Gonna Cry 10. This Free Ride 11. Paris to Sleep 12. Sleepin' at the Meetin' 13. God Bless America

As one of the many consequences of this year's pandemic and ensuing lockdown, J. Willgoose found himself with some time on his hands. With the next Public Service Broadcasting album recording sessions delayed, and all the band's equipment stuck in a different country, he cobbled together old synths, sequencers and pedals and set about creating something new. Originally intended as an experiment in ambient music, the recordings developed into something more fulsome culminating in an entire new body of work in the shape of a 4 track LP under the Late Night Final pseudonym. With nods to the likes of Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, KLF's seminal Chill Out album and contemporary artists such as Amulets and Kelly Lee Owens, Late Night Final retains Public Service Broadcasting's playful ear for a tune which weaves understatedly through the record's beautifully immersive cerebral soundscape. Album Tracks 1. Thank You 2. A Wonderful Hope 3. The Human Touch 4. Slow
